Half an hour later, Daniel and Amelia were sitting at one of the tables in the food court of the mall. The initial plan was to leave as soon as she finished shopping, but at some point, Daniel became convinced she hadn't eaten in a long time. So when they left the last store, carrying bags full of new clothes she had paid for herself, Daniel and Amelia entered a peaceful discussion about whether or not to take a break to eat. In the end, Amelia just gave up arguing; after all, she was really hungry, and maybe she needed some time before getting back into the car, to spend almost two hours confined in that small space with him, after the... improper situation they had almost, but not quite, created in the fitting room.
