Averting his gaze from Amelia, Itzal indicated for her to sit on one of the sofas and tried to ignore the tension gradually taking over his body. God, how he hated that damn ritual.
“Do you want me to explain it step by step or just summarize?” he sat at the other end of the sofa, leaning in to face her as he spoke, wanting to observe her reactions to stop if he noticed it was too much for her to handle.
“Which option will scare me less?”
None, he wanted to say, but just shook his head.
“I’ll summarize just to save time, okay?” he decided. In truth, he would summarize because the less he talked about it, the less likely he was to explode from the tension.
“Alright,” Amelia looked down at her legs, nervously playing with the hem of her dress. “I’m ready, you can start.”
