Secrets Unfold

What?” I asked, shocked. I never expected this at all, so all the things we had together could possibly be a lie. It couldn’t be; she wouldn’t do that to me. She was carrying my child, for goodness' sake; how could she hide her identity from me? I would have loved her regardless of our differences. "Pft, poor child. Strong yet so weak you are. You must not allow all these emotions to get to you. You are the God of war for a reason; you need to start acting like one, and luckily for you, I am here to aid in that,” he said as if he were talking to a child. That child was me; I couldn’t fathom how exactly I could become so weak like this. It was ever since I met her. Does love really make one weak? “Timothy, I don’t understand. What do you mean by that?” I asked, trying to get myself. The revelation had really disrupted my process. “Come now, let me show you what I truly mean.” He stretched out his hand towards mine, waiting for me to patiently take it. I looked around and touched the back of my head, which had stopped paining me a while ago. I stretched out my hands towards his, and he grabbed them instantly. In that moment a wave of light shot through the skies, and all of a sudden I was standing in my room at the palace. Not as the owner but as an onlooker, I looked round and saw myself coming out of the bathroom dripping with water that had yet to be cleaned. This happened a few moments before disaster struck me. “Now, I want you to watch what is to unfold carefully. After which you will decide which path you truly want to follow.” Timothy said from beside me while placing his hands on my shoulder as if comforting me. I nodded my head obediently and watched, patiently waiting for what was about to unfold.I watched as I stood up from the bed wearing my clothes for training; after doing so, I walked towards my personal training room.I couldn’t help but notice a black figure silently watching me in the corner as if waiting to strike. I squinted my eyes to see who it was, and I was shocked to see Mariam, Rose’s personal maid. How come I didn’t detect her presence at that moment? When had I become so weak to the extent that I was slaughtered like a chicken in my chambers?I felt so disappointed in myself; rage flowed through my blood, and I started getting hot. “Now Matthias, calm down; the best is yet to come. You shall see how foolish you have been in allowing just anyone into your life,” he said, stepping forward and pulling me towards him. Our location had then changed from my room to George’s chambers, my next in command. He stood in front of a mirror talking to somebody, a dark figure on the other side of the mirror. “Celine, I need him gone today. He’s spoiling our plans. We need to take control of this kingdom,” he said while rubbing his forehead in frustration. “Patience, my Prince; the throne shall be yours in due time. I believe Mariam should be taking care of him by now.” Celine said from inside as she stretched out her hands to George. He took her hands and stared at her with admiration before sighing and nodding his head.I stood there shocked at the scene before me; never in my wildest dream would I have suspected that George was this cunning. I grew up with him; we fought and won battles together. I always made sure to include him in everything I did; he wasn’t like a brother… He was my brother. My body started shaking in anger, and without thinking, I charged towards George; as my fist was about to meet with his sharp jawline, he disappeared at that moment. “Stop being so angry and start being smart, boy.” Timothy said, sounding frustrated, as he ate what seemed to be a bagel. “How can I not be angry, Timothy?! You saw what happened just now; the person I regarded to be my brother, whom I took as my very own, betrayed me. All the barriers I had built for the past 20 years of my life started breaking down; all I could see in that instance was rage and anger. I wanted revenge; power started surging through my veins as I felt a burning sensation. “Oh thank goodness, it’s about time you unleashed your true form,” he said happily as he started clapping excitedly. “However, I’m not done showing you the truth,” he added quickly as he snapped his fingers. We switched back to my room, and the figure that was hidden before came into light. She was careful in her steps; I was convinced she used black magic because no amount of training could silence one’s steps as it did with hers.I saw no weapon in her hands, and she now stood behind my back; she bowed her head and started mumbling words. The skies rumbled as it started raining outside, following the start of the rain. Mariam lifted her hands up and used all her force to strike my back; blood immediately poured out of my mouth as I started coughing and fell to the ground helplessly. Before I could look up to see the culprit, she had already vanished. My mother came rushing into the room 5 minutes later as she cried for help and summoned the healer. “It’s almost time for you to go back to your realm.” Timothy suddenly said as he looked around carefully. “Go back to my realm? I thought this was my new realm now?” I asked, more confused than ever. “Oh definitely not, I don’t need you causing havoc here. Your world needs you now more than ever; you will face challenges, no doubt, but remember you are more powerful than you think.” He said as he smiled encouragingly at me. “Wow, thank you, Timothy.” I replied, feeling more hopeful. “Good, now get lost,” he fired as he rushed towards me, stabbing me. I looked at him in shock as he smirked at me and waved his hand. "Remember boy, be smart and do not allow your emotions to cloud your judgement."
