Vengeance

“Elder brother, I’ll stay with her and let you know if anything changes.” Tobirama told him. Hashirama put his hand on his brother’s shoulder and walked away. Tobirama stayed with her. Watching her sleep. She would gasp in pain and then groan. Tears fell from her eyes. Tobirama in that moment regretted allowing the Uchiha to police themselves. He like Madara, wanted blood. But it wasn’t his place. He had ordered her to attend the meeting. It was meant to show her that she had earned his respect. She was a great teacher and her fighting ability was admirable. She fought to defend her friend against multiple foes. Three died and according to Izuna, a fourth followed while Kala was restrained. Autopsy’s were being done. They said the fourth man’s eyes were white. He had died instantly. No other injuries were found. He would have to speak to Kala about what exactly happened. How it had happened. What her state of mind was. Was it an attack she could use at will or was it do to her being in danger. Was it even a jutsu. Its unlike anything he had heard of. A kekkai genkkai, perhaps? Kala kept seeing faces, hearing laughter. Eight shadows surrounding her. They were touching her, cutting her. Out of nowhere a jet black wolf attacked them. Ripping out their throats, one after the other. Walls appeared and the blood coated them before forming into crimson puddles at her feet. She heard the screams of men, women and children then. She fell back trying to keep the puddles from reaching her. The wolf growled, blood dripping from his fangs. Kala trembled as the wolf began to transform. “Madara!” She screamed. He turned and looked at her. His eyes almost sad, his hands soaked with blood. Kala tried to back away from him. Her heart pounding. He activated his Sharingan then and held her in place. Kala bolted upright in bed. Looked at Tobirama, confused for a moment and then fainted and fell back. Tobirama watched as blood began to appear through the blankets that covered her. He could hear the blood dripping onto the floor. Before he could move, the doctors and nurses rushed into the room and rushed her back into surgery. The doctor nodded and pointed to a chair outside so that someone could sanitize the room. “Madara,” Izuna yelled. “You cannot go to the hospital like that. Please.” Madara stopped, turned towards home and then continued walking. Izuna sighed and followed him. Madara stripped out of his armor, while someone took it away, he slipped out of his blood soaked clothes and stepped into the shower. His heart was still pounding, the blood lust running its course. He watched the blood run into the drain until the water ran clear again. He washed himself thoroughly. When he finished, he got dressed in clean clothes and met Izuna in the main part of the house. Izuna watched his elder brother for a moment. Not saying a word. Not needing to. They walked back to the hospital in silence. When they reached Kala’s room and opened the door, Tobirama was waiting. “Where’s Kala?” Madara breathed. “She’s back in surgery. She woke up suddenly and sat up so quickly that she began to bleed again.” Tobirama glared at him and left them there. After a few hours, the door opened and Kala was wheeled back into the room. Before Madara could get to her side, the doctor motioned the men to join him outside the room. After shutting the door he began to tell them what had happened. When she had sat up suddenly, she had broke open stitches as well as managing to dislodge a massive blood clot resulting in her losing large amounts of blood. They had stopped the bleeding, but she was exhausted and weak. Whatever had awakened her so suddenly was going to prolong her recovery for months. “May I see her?” Madara asked, his voice a whisper. The doctor nodded. “You can stay with her. She’ll probably wake in an hour or two.” Madara opened the door and walked in, going to her bedside. “Sir,” The doctor stopped Izuna. “She needs to rest. If your brother causes her any undue stress...” Izuna nodded in understanding. The doctor left. Izuna joined his brother. He flinched when he finally saw her. She was re bandaged. Her face was pale, but her breathing steady. Madara sat in a chair and took her hand in his. She felt so cold. Izuna sat in the chair Tobirama had left. Madara watched her intently, his heart aching. After some time, he felt her hand move in his. He looked up and watched as her eyes fluttered open. She tried to take a breath and winced. Madara squeezed her hand again. Kala looked at him and managed a weak smile. “Kala, I’m sorry.” he said simply. He saw a tear roll down her cheek. He kissed her forehead. “Elder brother, I need to report to the Hokage.” Izuna said quietly. Madara nodded and remained silent. When Izuna came in the door, Hashirama stood up. Izuna smiled. “She’s awake, Madara is with her now.” Hashirama sat back down obviously relieved. “Your report.” Tobirama requested all business despite the slightest sparkle in his eyes at the good news. Izuna described all that Madara had done. The eight men and the families of all twelve fell to Madara. All of them were members of a rogue faction inside the Uchiha clan. Furthermore, Madara had found the leader during his mission. After he found Sara’s parents among those hung in the grove, he hunted the man down and finished it. The aftermath in the village has been cleared away. “I’m sorry for the loss of life.” Izuna said bowing deeply. “This had better be the extent of it.” Tobirama demanded. “Yes, sir.” Izuna bowed and left. Madara visited Kala as often as he could over the next few weeks. During one visit he found Kala sitting up. She smiled when she saw him. She had come a long way. Her breaks had healed. All of her external injuries. But the damage from the assault would take much longer. A nurse brought her lunch. Kala grimaced. The nurse bowed to Madara and left. Kala pouted. “What is it, woman.” He asked. Kala looked up at him, her eyes pleading. “Could you please get me some BBQ ramen?” Madara crossed him arms. “No. You know that doesn’t work on me.” Izuna knocked. “Hey Kala, I brought you...” He stopped. “Elder brother.” Izuna quickly hid his prize. “Brother.” Izuna reluctantly handed him the bowl. Madara winked at Kala before promptly dumping the bowl of ramen on his brothers head. Kala groaned. What a waste of good ramen. Izuna glared at him. ” I’ll see you later, Kala.” He tells her and hurriedly leaves to clean himself up. Madara pulled up a chair, took Kala’s tray. “Do I feed you? Or will you do it yourself?” Kala took the tray and stuck her tongue out at him. Madara crossed his arms and watched her eat every bite. “I better go,” He says simply kissing her forehead. Tobirama watched him leave. He knocked on Kala’s door. Kala started to try and move so she could bow. “Lie still, you foolish girl. Before you hurt yourself again.” “Sensai.” She nods. Tobirama simply handed her a bowl of beef ramen, piled high with strips of bbq. He grunted, and turned to leave. When he got to the door, he said, “I was never here.” And promptly disappeared. Kala dug in and almost immediately regretted it. The nurse came in to check on her and found her throwing up. She called the doctor. When the doctor saw the empty ramen bowl on the table, he put his hands on his hips. “There’s a reason you’re on a light diet.” Kala was certainly in no position to argue. Tobirama met Madara on his way back to the Hokage’s office. “No need to worry about Kala complaining about hospital food from now on.” Madara raised and eyebrow. When he went to visit Kala a few days later, he took Izuna with him. While the doctor reminded both of them that outside food was not permitted for medical reasons obviously. Madara stood there with his arms crossed and nearly managed a smile. It took two more months before Kala was completely healed and finally cleared to leave the hospital. Kala was finishing getting ready so she could leave. There was a knock at the door. The doctor entered. Behind him was Madara holding two bowls of beef ramen with strips of bbq. She took one from him and kissed him on the cheek. Madara scowled. “Hurry up and eat so we can go home.” “Not too fast, Kala.” Izuna warns as he takes the second bowl. “Thank you, Elder brother.” Madara just crossed his arms and watched the two of them talking more than eating. He signed the discharge papers. Aftercare instructions: 1. If you must have s*x. Be gentle for at least two more weeks. 2. She is to remain off duty for 3 months. She may train under close supervision. 3. She must stay with family until she returns to duty. 4. She may return to duty only after authorization has been granted by her caregivers, the doctor, her Sensai and Lord Hokage. Kala would not like this. But she knew better than to argue with him. After they were finished Madara growled. “Time to go, woman.” Izuna grabbed her bags and Madara picked her up bridal style. “Madara, put me down. I’m fully capable of walking.” She demanded. He ignored her. “Izuna,” she pleaded. “Nope, you’re officially under my elder brother’s care now.” Kala sighed in resignation. And proceeded to play with his hair. Until Madara glared at her. She blushed and kept her hands still.
