Kala met Sara at the training grounds about five minutes before her test. She put her hand on her students shoulder. “You’ll do great.” Sara nodded with a smile. Sara walked towards Tobirama to begin. Hashirama walked over. “Good morning, Kala.” He says simply. “Good morning, Lord Hokage.” She responded. He seemed more subdued that usual this morning. He motioned her to sit down. “We received some news quite late last night in regards to an ongoing mission. “Not good news, I’d gather by your expression.” Hashirama shook his head. “It involves the parents of your student.” Kala looked at him. “We are sending Madara to verify a few things, so we won’t know the outcome until he returns. The child is to remain unaware until we find out a definite answer.” “Yes, sir.” Kala responded. “Sir, if they were expected for this meeting, what am I to tell her? To be fair, that’s your job, not mine.” Hashirama nodded. “Perhaps you’re right.” He agreed. They watched as Sara fulfilled all the requirements. Kala smiled when Sara walked over to her. “I did it, Sensai.” She breathed. Kala nodded. Tobirama put his hands on his hips, “You’ve done a great job with her. She’s right on track.” Kala nodded. “Thank you, Sensai.” Tobirama looked at his brother again, and became quiet. Sara watched curiously. “Have you decided to tell her after all, Brother?” Tobirama asked. Sara looked at all three of them confused. Tobirama nodded. “Follow me, child.” He ordered. Sara looked at Kala for a moment before following him. After Tobirama told Sara the news, Kala could see her shoulders shake as she sobbed. Sara walked back over to Kala. “I’ll be alright, Kala Sensai.” She stated simply. Kala reached out to hug her, but she pushed her away. “I’ll see you tonight.” With that Sara ran toward home. Kala watched her go. Hashirama shook his head. “One of the many reasons being a teacher has its drawbacks.” “Will she be alright?” Kala asked quietly. “Madara is waiting for her,” Tobirama replied. “As well as other members of her family.” Kala nodded. ” You can have the rest of the day off, we usually do that with the students as well.” Hashirama tells her. Kala nodded. When Kiko saw Kala she smiled until she saw that Kala wasn’t. “Are you alright?” She asked. Kala nodded. “I’m fine, I have the day off.” Kiko looked at her confused. “Shouldn’t you be happy about that?” Kala nodded, “Normally, but my student is waiting to hear the news on her parents, when they were supposed to be here earlier today. They’re missing.” Kiko frowned. “I understand.” “Would you like some tea?” She asked. “That would be great.” Kala replied. Then she remembered, “Kiko, you’re were invited by Madara to join me at the meeting.” Kiko blushed and her eyes lit up. “In that case, lets go shopping. I can do your hair. What time?” “Madara said he would pick us up at my house at five-thirty.” She replied. Kiko clapped her hands. “I’m ready if you are.” Kala smiled. They returned to Kala’s house a few hours later. Kiko checked the time, they were okay. She had Kala shower and change. She had chosen a sky blue gown that went to her feet. Kiko smiled when she saw her. “Sit down.” She tells her. Kala obeyed. When Kiko was done with her, her hair was in a neat bun with some strands of hair on either side of her face. Kala smiled. Kiko was in long skirt with a blouse. Madara was on time, when Kala opened the door, she saw he was dressed in his armor. She looked up at him. “I’ll have to leave as soon as the meeting is over.” Kala nodded. “Maam,” Madara responded when he saw Kiko. Kiko blushed. Madara raised a brow at Kala. “You should be used to how women react around you.” Kala told him. “I never paid attention.” He responded. Madara led the women to the compound. Officers saluted Madara when they arrived at his compound and opened the door. Kala and Kiko looked at each other. It was massive in here. Madara led them to a large dining hall. The guests had already been seated. Madara pulled out chairs for the women and they sat down. He took his seat at the end of the table. On one side was his brother, Izuna on the other was Sara. She managed a smile. Kala nodded hello. Dinner was served shortly after. When the table had been cleared, Madara stood up and waited for the room to quiet before he spoke. “Ladies and Gentleman, fellow clan members, honored guests.” Kala blushed again. She heard Kiko stifle a giggle. Kala pinched her leg under the table. Madara continued. “We are here to recognize Sara Uchiha. She has successfully passed testing and has become a Chunin. Under the guidance of her Sensai, Kala Matai.” Madara motioned for Kala to stand. She did so before bowing to everyone and taking her seat again. “I have been called to look into another matter, so I must take my leave. Feel free to stay and enjoy yourselves. You’ll find cakes and juices as well as a very delicious wine from my own stores, for the adults.” With that he bowed and began to leave. Kala got up to follow him. He stopped her with a look. She sat down again. Kiko noticed the sad look. “He has to keep up appearances, dear. He is the clan leader after all.” An older women next to her says quietly. She smiled knowingly. “Should you be chosen to join the Uchiha, you will be expected to learn a lot of things.” Kala nodded, “Thank you, maam.” Kala responded. “You glow at the sight of him dear. Personally, I’m glad to see that he has found someone to keep his interest. He deserves to be taken care of. He does his best to take care of the rest of us.” Kala nodded. The party went on for a few hours. Soon the guests began to leave. Kala found Sara and bid her goodnight. “I’m sure everything will be alright, dear.” She tells her with a smile. Sara nodded. “I’m sure it will, after all the clan leader is going to bring them home.” Kala nodded and watched as Sara was led away by another family member. She went back to Kiko and sat down. “Well, that was fun.” Kala smiled. Who knew the Uchiha could throw such good parties. Kala saw Kiko blush, when she looked up, she saw Izuna bidding his guests goodnight before they left. Izuna seemed to notice he was being watched and gave Kiko a disarming grin. Kala chuckled. “So now its you’re turn.” Kiko ignored her. “Has he?” Kiko looked at her. “Asked you out?” Kala asked. Kiko blushed again. “We’ve gone out a few times.” She answered. Kala gave her a questioning look. “If you must know, yes we have.” Kala started laughing. The Uchiha wasted no time in bedding the women they chose. “Goodness, it must be getting late.” Kiko tells Kala with a yawn. Kala checked the time. “1 in the morning.” “Man I’ve got to get home.” Kiko responded. Kala agreed, she and Sara still had missions to complete. Izuna must have noticed they were getting restless. He said goodbye to the last of his guests and walked over. “Kala, Kiko.” He addresses them. “I’ll be ready to take the two of you home in a few minutes.” Kala nodded. Izuna leaned in and whispered something in Kiko’s ear. And left with a big smile on his face.” Kiko blushed again. Izuna had grabbed his belongings and was leaving instructions for the staff when there was a knock on the door. Two men in uniform approached Izuna and saluted. He listened to what they had to say. “Gentlemen, can’t this wait.” Kala heard him say. “No, sir.” the Captain of the two responded. “It’s an urgent matter.” “I’m expected to walk guests home.” Izuna insisted. The officer’s underling whispered something in his ear. The Captain nodded with a smile. “Sir, my men can escort the young women home. That would leave you able to resolve this issue.” Izuna paused. Madara had ordered him to escort them home personally. Izuna looked at Kala and Kiko with a grimace and held up a hand asking them to wait a moment longer. A police escort would work, the men and women were handpicked by his brother. He had to see to his duties. Surely Madara of all people would understand. He joined Kala and Kiko again and explained the situation to them. “Izuna, its fine,” Kala responded, “Do what you need to do.” He smiled sheepishly at Kiko, pleading with his eyes for her to forgive him for the change in plans.” Kiko smiled and kissed him on the cheek. “We’ll be fine.” The second officer, a Lieutenant, beckoned them to follow him outside where they saw four officers waiting. He led them to the middle of the group and took his place. They began to walk away from the front of Madara’s compound. Kiko was chattering away. Kala checked her surroundings out of habit. Two officers ahead of them, two behind. The Lieutenant was leading them. As they got even further from the compound, Kala caught movement behind them. She touched Kiko’s arm to quiet her. “What?” Kiko whispered. Kala nodded behind her. Four officers had increased to eight. They meant business. Kala had a bad feeling. She cursed herself for agreeing to come unarmed. She kept hold of Kiko’s arm as they walked further. The gate separating the Uchiha compound from the rest of Konoha came into view. More movement, four more officers. The tension rose, the air seem to become thick with it. Kala waited for it. Who would it be? Two officers from each group stopped and waited, watching. In the next moment, another officer moved to strike Kiko. Kala was quicker. She blocked the kunai he wielded. “Run, Kiko,” Kala screamed at her. “Not yet.” Kiko growled and struck the man who had attacked her knocking him out cold. Kala didn’t have time to be impressed. She watched Kiko run across the boundary before turning her attention to her attackers once again. Four men lay on the ground. Three dead. Kala kept a defensive stance, a stolen kunai in each hand, waiting. Two more attacked, she deflected. She heard laughter. A kunai flew by her arm cutting it. A leg came out of nowhere trying to sweep Kala off her feet, she dodged easily. But in that same moment, she heard “Sharingan.” She tried to close her eyes. Suddenly, one of the men were thrown back. He hit the wall behind him and stayed still. His companions paused for a moment. Kala felt a sharp pain and blackness overtook her.
