Surprises

Madara put his hands behind his back and began to walk away. He nodded to the people he passed. He was acting like a love sick schoolboy and he didn’t even know her. He shook his head. The Hokage was waiting for him. Hashirama was waiting with a cup of tea and a friendly greeting. Madara explained Kala’s request and He thought on it. “That can be arranged. The school can always use another pair of hands.” “She’s no ninja, brother.” Tobirama chimed in as he sat down. “How do you expect her to handle children who are?” “Test her.” Madara growled under his breath. Tobirama glared at him. Hashirama put a hand up. “She’s a guest here.” He started. “You’re right.” Tobirama agreed suddenly. Madara and Hashirama went silent. “How?” Madara asked quietly. Hashirama looked at his brother curiously as well. “Leave that to me.” He stated simply and left. “I’m sure she’ll be fine. And he does have a valid point.” Hashirama assured his friend. Madara could only nod in agreement. They sat and spoke a while longer before parting ways. Kala put all her new clothes away. She hung the dress in the closet. So much for having control over the situation. She began to close the closet door when she heard a whistle and dodged instinctively. The time it took for Kala to register in her mind that it was a kunai, she was punched into unconscious. When she woke to a throbbing head, she found herself bound securely. She lay in front of a fire. Tobirama watched her with a glare from the other side. “So, you’re a shinobi.” Kala sat up slowly. “I honestly didn’t know. I only reacted to you attacking me.” Kala said quietly. “My brother may be a fool, but I’m not.” She waited. Breathing evenly despite her heart pounding. “Madara requested that I test you. After my brother agreed to find a use for you.” He stated continuing to watch her. “Then test me, sir. I swear I am no threat to the village.” Kala stated boldly. “That remains to be seen.” He snapped. Kala bowed, forehead touching the ground. “Please, I am at your mercy, Sensai.” Tobirama paused watching her. She felt a gust of air above her hands freeing them and heard the kunai lodge in the tree behind her. “Fine, be at the school in the morning.” With that, he was gone. Kala sat up and breathed a sigh of relief. She looked up at the stars and noticed then that he had left her twenty miles from the village. “Asshole.” She said quietly. She cleared the campsite and ran. Before long, she was sailing through the trees. She got home, showered and went to bed. She woke early, put on another jumpsuit, her shoes, and put her hair up in a ponytail. She opened the door and again found Madara ready to knock. He handed her a cup of coffee. “Sugar and creamer.” Kala smiled. “Thank you.” She blew on it and took a sip. It was perfect. He could be taught. He walked her to the school where Tobirama was waiting arms crossed. She handed him her cup and turned to go. Madara whispered in her ear. “You’ll be fine.” Her body prickled from head to toe. She closed her eyes and took a breath. Kala followed Tobirama into a large room where there were ten shinobi waiting. She looked at Tobirama for direction. “Gentlemen, Kala is to be tested on everything, no holds barred.” The group nodded as Tobirama sat down to watch. Madara waited outside. How does someone get tested to babysit, he wondered. He could sense the chakra of a group of people besides Kala. Hashirama joined him. “Did he say how he was testing her?” He asked. Madara nodded and shrugged. As far as they both knew, she was a civilian. “Tobirama does things his own way for his own reasons.” Hashirama responded. Madara nodded. Suddenly, a wall of the building blew out in a cloud of smoke. They jumped to their feet. They saw a flash of gray, then Kala slid across the ground before dodging another attack. Madara and Hashirama ran to assess the damage and check if there were any injuries. They stopped dead and looked at eachother, bodies lay strewn on the floor. Madara checked the nearest one. Unconscious, non fatal injuries. They watched in stunned silence as Kala almost kept up with her opponent. Almost, but not quite. Tobirama put his hand on her back and put her face first into the ground. Kala rolled over to avoid another blow. Instead, she heard “Don’t move.” Kala froze as the tip of his kunai broke the skin at her neck. “Enough, Tobirama.” Hashirama ordered. His brother backed off and stood up, putting his weapon away. “Brother, we need to talk.” He growled. ” I’ll take care of things here,” Madara offered. Hashirama nodded his thanks. “Come, girl.” Tobirama ordered. Kala winked at Madara and fell into step behind the men. When the three arrived at the Hokage’s office and shut the door. Kala sat down and remained silent while the brothers discussed what to do with her. “Brother, she is a fully trained Shinobi. Jonin level, easily.” Hashirama sat down. And thought for a moment. “Someone like that doesn’t just appear out of nowhere.” Well?, Kala thought to herself. She hadn’t realized she had smiled at the thought, but Tobirama sure did. He grabbed her by the front of her jumpsuit and lifted her off the floor easily. Kala didn’t even flinch. “Tobirama, calm yourself.” Hashirama sighed. She may tell us if you weren’t so physical.” “I’m eager to do so, Lord Hokage.” Kala agreed. “But the walls have ears and what I have to tell you is dangerous in the wrong hands.” Tobirama put her back on her feet. Kala was nervous to be sure. The brothers set up a barrier so that she could speak freely. She explained where she had come from. A dimension where the Shinobi were fictional characters created by a man of great talent. She didn’t go into to detail of course. Tobirama and Hashirama looked at each other when she finished. “Brother, we can’t just let her loose with this kind of knowledge.” He insisted. Hashirama obviously agreed. Tobirama, brought out his kunai and waited. Hashirama shook his head, “There is no need for that, brother.” He states. “We need only use a sealing jutsu to prevent her from divulging any information.” “Fine,” Tobirama agreed. Kala raised an eyebrow. A sealing jutsu? This would be interesting. “Having the knowledge you do is dangerous.” Tobirama growled. “I agree,” Hashirama replied solemnly. “I’ll agree to whatever terms you set, of course.” Kala reassured them. After preparations were made, Kala stood in the middle of the diagram on the floor and waited. When Tobirama struck her, she screamed and fell to her knees. The pain was intense. Her head grew foggy for a moment, she threw up. When she got to her feet, Hashirama handed her a glass of water. “You will not be able to speak about what you know to anyone. Even us.” Tobirama told her. “You will be instated as a Jonin and be under my supervision as well as my brothers.” Kala nodded, “Yes, sir.” “You’ll report for missions beginning tomorrow.” Hashirama ordered. “You’ll also dress appropriately.” He growled as he tossed her a set of clothing. “You’re dismissed.” He snapped simply. Hashirama nodded, giving her permission to leave.
