Chapter 2— The kiss that changed everything.

For a moment, neither of us moved. My mind refused to accept what my eyes were seeing. Out of all the universities in the country. Out of all the dorms in this school... I had to see him and even worse, on my first day of school. He had the same arrogant posture. The same face that always looked effortlessly perfect. And that same confident smirk that he wore whenever he humiliated me in high school. His eyes moved over me, stopping on my body before returning to my face and it was then I remembered what I was wearing. Lingerie! Damn! My cheeks turned red in embarrassment as I grabbed the nearest hoodie from the chair beside me and quickly pulled it over my head. His smirk widened. "Well, I didn't expect to see you here," He said lazily, pushing himself off the doorframe and my hand clutched into a fist. I felt pure rage. Why him? I wouldn't be so angry if it was any of my other classmates from Downstar high school, but him? The mastermind of everything that happened to me? I was furious! "Why are you here? What are you doing here?" I demanded, gritting my teeth and he rolled his eyes like I was asking the dumbest question. "Well, I was admitted into this school just like you," He responded and this made me even angrier. Does he think I am joking with him? "I mean what are you doing here?" I snapped. "Don't tell me you saw me arrive with my mom and waited for everyone to leave just so you could start bullying me again." For a second, he just stared at me, then he let out a short laugh. "Wow, you think I followed you here?" He said slowly and my jaw tightened. "Do you expect me to believe that you didn't?" I retorted and he ran a hand through his hair, clearly irritated. "Believe whatever you want, Lydia, but the world doesn't revolve around you." He spat and my heart clenched. He didn't have the right to say something like that to me when he made a whole school turn against me. When a few years ago, he made sure to frustrate me every day like he had an attendance for it. "Oh really? Because back at Downstar high school, it definitely felt like it did." His confident smirk widened as he took slow steps towards me and every step made my heart race faster. What did he want to do? A memory of when he once poured my meal on me flashed, and this made me tremble. I glanced at the moisturizer nearby that was open and close within reach. Was he going to pour it on me? He leaned in with his face a few inches from mine and it hurt to admit how flawless his skin was up close or worse, how sexy his cologne smelled. "You're still dramatic. We just had a little fun in high school. Stop taking it too personally." He said with his hot breath tickling my neck, and anger surged through me. "You call that fun? That left a scar on my life that can never be forgotten." I replied, with my voice breaking and his gaze softened. Something flickered in his eyes, while his lips slightly parted like he was holding himself back from saying something. But just then, the door was flung open. "Okay, we are back and you will not believe..." Caroline froze mid-sentence looking between us and I swallowed hard, immediately taking steps backwards. The last thing I wanted was to be linked to someone like him. Caroline's eyes widened, while Maya who was behind her blinked in confusion. "Uh...Are we interrupting something?" "No," I said quickly, while Tristan looked completely unbothered. "Yes, I was having a catch-up with my old friend." He mocked, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans. Then he turned to face Caroline. "I wanted to offer you girls a ride since you told me you'd be at the party today." He said, then he looked at his watch. "But I am already quite late. The conversation here was just too beautiful to stop." He said glancing at me and I scoffed. "Oh my, Tristan. That's so thoughtful of you. I am so sorry we kept you waiting." Maya replied, adjusting her hair to draw his attention to the new style she had on. "Yeah, we'd have hurried if we knew." Caroline chimed in and I rolled my eyes. The f**k? I couldn't believe they were shoving themselves at this bastard! I wouldn't be shocked, he has always had girls lining up for him due to his looks and skills on the ice. "Alright, I will get going now." He said, then he smirked at me. "Don't miss me too much. I promise to come and find you soon." He drawled and my fist clenched. Was he indirectly admitting to the fact that he truly stalked me? When Tristan left, my two roommates began to giggle like they had won an award and if they weren't kind girls, I would have absolutely hated them for that. "Oh my gosh! The Tristan Reed came to my room to offer me a ride!!" Caroline said excitedly and I shook my head, returning to my skin care routine. "You mean us," Maya corrected, then she leaned in as if she was going to say something important. "I think he likes one of us." "Yeah, I do too. But how do we make sure it doesn't just die down? I mean, there are so many girls around him." Caroline pouted and as if they shared the same brain cell, they slowly turned to look at me. Oh no. Never. Don't tell me they wanted me to be a middleman for them!
