“What are you talking about, Jake? She who?”
“Just do what you need to do.”
“Tell me what’s going on!” This was different. If something was going on with June, I needed to know.
“f**k that. You’ll only get me in more trouble.” He shook his head, further pulling away.
“You’re already in a shitload of trouble. Tell me what’s going on with my daughter!” I demanded.
“Ty had a video. One he planned on using against her. I made sure he couldn’t.” That’s all he gave me, and that’s all he would give me. A video of what?
“You should have told me. I could have investigated.”
“You would have made it worse. I did what I had to. For her.”
