CHAPTER THREE EVELYN'S POV "Evelyn…" my mother muttered as she stretched her hands to grab a sit She lost balance as my younger brother broke the news, "Why would Evelyn do such a thing hearing what the doctor said about my health and how I shouldn't be stressed?" My mother continued while she wiped her tears with a napkin. "As from today henceforth no member of this household is allowed to mention or even talk about that girl, I have disowned her, first she cooked up a Story that landed your mom in the hospital just because she wanted to move and despite my disapproval, she still went ahead.” My father added furious with his eyes red, the room was silent as no one as ever seen my father reach this way looking at each other in frit, sobs from my mother filled the room and everyone tried to console her knowing her health condition. Halfway around the world I stepped out of the plane and walked the streets to Los Angeles with a big smile on my face and the wind in my hair, danced to an imaginary song in my head celebrating my freedom from my family, and I got a sound slap across my left cheek. "Are you blind, does this look like a club or a dance floor to you? You weren't looking now you bumped into me and spilled my coffee all over my expensive clothes." "Oh, I'm so sorry I wasn't looking, sorry for spilling your coffee all over your clothes," I said as I rubbed my left cheek still in pain from the slap I just received. "My expensive clothes you mean, you blind frick, oh you are paying for my laundry," The pretty lady with no manners continued drawing attention from passersby "People are watching, please bring your voice down, it wasn't intentional." I said as I tried to claim the situation unknown to me it was just the beginning, "Don't you ever speak to me like that or ever tell me what to do, Do you even know who I am? You don't do let me educate you as you are fresh off the plane, My name is Jessica, soon to be married to Benson Hart, Google those names before you speak to me, you hear me, girl? Jessica asked with disdain in her eyes as she walked around screaming Move! As passersby were taking pictures and making videos, immediately my happy and free spirit was gone as I wondered why she was so mean, I walked into the apartment with the house agent I already paid for while I was still in my parent's house. "Everything to your liking?" The beautiful middle-aged house agent asked with a smile on her face," Yeah…yeah," I responded coldly as I thought about the experience I just had with Jessica and wondered if I made the right choice leaving my family," excuse me where can I get something to eat?" I asked the house agent as she was handing me my keys and about leaving, "There is a small restaurant just a few blocks away," the agent said as she left. "Oh yeah I found it," I said to myself as I opened the restaurant door to make my way in, surprisingly I saw Jessica leaving in tears, “what the hell is Miss Expensive doing here crying,I hope someone didn't spill coffee on her again?" I mockingly asked myself as I made my way to place my order, I took a seat and waited for my food, then my mother's favorite sound played through the speaker, and worm tears dropped on my cheek contemplating if I should call her to know how she was doing, but more tears dropped as I had called twice and she did not respond. "Do you need a napkin for your tears, and why is a beautiful lady like yourself crying?" A deep male voice asked, as I raised my head I saw a tall, handsome guy staring down at me with the most beautiful eyes, I had never seen a man look so good in an apron and immediately I forgot about my family issues, "Oh, I just moved here, just missing home," I replied with my hands over my face not wanting him to notice that I was blushing, "Here's your food, I know it's not like a home meal but I'm positive it will make you smile, and it's on the house just to welcome you to the neighborhood." He said with a smile as he walked away, I blushed harder as he left, oh my goodness what an amazing man with good manners I liked him immediately. "where is the man who served me?" I asked as I wanted to appreciate him for the meal, " He left already, His shift is over." "Ok thank you," I replied as I left with a sad face not knowing his name. "Baby girl," A deep male voice called out from the dark, I shivered in fear knowing I had taken a wrong turn a few blocks back, I turned immediately to get on the right track and four hoodlums twice my size already surrounded me with knives, "Come on baby girl no need to run, we are just trying to have fun and you will enjoy it too," One of the hoodlums said as he stretched his hands to grab me "Please don't harm me, I don't have any money I don't even have a job please I beg you," I begged in fear and tears rolling down her face, "Why the tears? You are going to enjoy this as much as we will," "What do you mean?" I asked with a shaking voice, "Grab her let me show her what I mean," one of the hoodlums grabbed me from behind and I screamed the loudest I have ever screamed in my entire life, I pushed, scratched, bit, and ran as fast as my legs could carry me, unfortunately for me, they cut me in no little time as it was dark and I was new there, they pushed me to the cold ground of Los Angeles, and on my first night I should have just stayed back home, Now history is about to repeat it's self in the worst way possible, As I thought to myself on the floor with tears in my eyes and the hoodlums approaching to have "fun", A deep familiar male voice echoed from the dark. "If you lay a finger on her I will break your neck."
