"There are a lot of fans that support you. Today is the first day of selections and there are already hundreds of people here to sign up already. There are still people calling and asking how they can sign up. You need to be able to handle this, don’t let us down.” Walsh said. Rudy took a moment to sit up and look out of the window, Walsh was right, there had to be a few hundred people outside, they were a lively crowd, chatting and cheering as they waited. Griffin burst into the room again after being outside, he looked over at Rudy; “Jesus Rudy! Are you alright?” Griffin asked with concern. Rudy who was still recovering from the shock of traveling through time, just nodded his head slowly. “Well thank goodness you are ok.” Griffin said as he turned to Wolf. “Look man, there are a lot of people out there, I could really use some help, like now.” Wolf stood up, smiled and patted Rudy on the shoulder. “You rest up now, I’m going to go out there and help Griffin.” Wolf said. As Wolf was about to walk out the door, Rudy thought of something. “Hey Wolf, wait!” Rudy called out. “Yeah?” Wolf stopped and turned. Rudy took a moment to really look at Wolf. He was quite overweight and was not good looking by any means. But he was jovial and warm hearted, Rudy could tell from his smile and his caring, warm mannerism. “So, there is a lot to do then?” Rudy asked quietly. Wolf let out a low laugh. “Yes, there is a lot to do. Since you established the new club, we have all been flat out and even though we are busy and tired, we volunteered to help with this club and that is what we will do. Do’t worry, we will get it all done.” Wolf replied. “Why? Why are you doing this for me?” Rudy asked confused. “Have you forgotten?” Wolf asked. “Remember when you decided to establish this club, you said that although you owned the club, it belonged to the fans and ultimately it was the team spirit and soul of the people that really made the club.” Wolf gave Rudy a smile as bright as the sun. “Even if all the clubs went down, your’s would be the one left standing because you are crazy and passionate and believe in pursuing your dreams.” Rudy froze and contemplated Wolf’s words. Droylsden Football Club was an amateur team, that played in the lower leagues. They had a run down stadium that could only hold up to three thousand spectators and then most of them had to stand. This was normal for most of the lower league clubs, their manager was a just a business man with an interest in football, their stadium had never been filled to capacity. However for an amateur team they had caught the attention of the European Football league. Droylsden had not attracted much attention from many people other than the European Football League, but today people, including media, had shown up to see the establishment of FC United. It seemed that the team would be made entirely of die hard football fans and not many professional players at all. The parking lot outside was overflowing, the cars spilling onto the street and causing a traffic jam. The local police were called to help keep the law and order and to direct traffic. A young man carrying a gym bag approached an officer; “Excuse me, could you please tell me where the registration office is?” The young man asked politely. “Sure, just walk down that way and follow the crowd after you get around the corner.” The officer indicated which direction the man should go. “Thank you very much!” He called back to the officer as he ran towards the stadium. The young man entered the stadium, he walked the long players tunnel and when he came to the end he stopped dead. The stadium was full of people, it was a sea of red Manchester jerseys as if the entire stadium was filled with Manchester United players. The young man grinned and looked all around, soaking in the atmosphere. It was so crowded that it took him a minute to find the table for registration, he stood up on his tip-toes and tried to see over the crowd. There were so many people here and the place was so full that they had set up the registration table all the way at the other end of the field. They had erected a giant umbrella over the table with a large, hand painted sign saying REGISTRATION hanging crookedly from it.
