Droylsden players were on vacation for a few weeks, since the training ground at Newton Heath was still being renovated, Mr Smith allowed FC United to train at the Butchers Arm Ground temporarily.
Mr Smith knew that it was important for the players that had just joined the team to be able to start training immediately. It was already June, the new season was almost upon them and if they had wanted any chance of succeeding the players had to practice together.
As the taxi pulled up to the stadium, a loud cheer erupted from inside.
“It sounds like quite a few people have come to watch the training match.” Rudy commented.
Tony nodded his head.
“Of course, they want to support the team from the very beginning but I think today there are more people than usual because Steve is here.” Tony
