In the end, FC United selected 22 players from the trial, Evra, Bruce, Keane, Ryan, and Curtis were invited to join as well. It was important for them to have enough players to separate into a few teams for training and also for back up in case of injury or illness.
None of the players took this match seriously, it was just a fun training match that Curtis was able to participate in. The more experienced players took it easy so he would have opportunities. Curtis was playing as a center back and Steve was encouraging him to go for the goal or steal the ball.
