54 Monday 6 August, 8.20pm. They’d been at Denton Lakes for over an hour, sitting on the sandy bank, the sun slowly disappearing over the canopy of the trees as the heat of the day became a dull orange glow that skipped across the water. Simon had said all he’d needed to say. He’d spent so long being Simon, speaking as Simon, he was surprised at how easy it was to become Lewis again. Perhaps some things never went away. It had been easy for him to change his name and become someone new.
