Chapter 2 ~ Announcement ~
"mother, I want to go to the western kingdom, if I destined to go there, I would go, and when I become the queen, at least they will not treat you like this, so I’m willing to take this chance,"
Elise replied. Even though she was approximately dying from fear, she buried it and tried to console her mother.
Elise's mother wished to die; why had her fate turned so wretched? She couldn't even console her daughter, and her ten-year-old girl offering her strength while she couldn't stay calm.
Both mother and daughter broke down in each other's arms.
The next day, king Ford sent his daughter to the western kingdom. Elise's mother requested to send a maid with Elise, but king Ford rejected her request;
He even used an old cracked carriage to send his daughter to the west kingdom; he indirectly used this circumstance to show the world that this daughter is trash like her fate.
In the end, they send Elise with no one accompanying her.
Inside the west kingdom,
Elise was so nervous that she was calculating her heartbeats. Since the carriage passed over the border, she clutched her dress tightly to control her nervousness.
Even though she was struggling to be the bravest girl for her mother,
She still was just ten years old; it’s her golden page of life. She was supposed to grow up with her mother's love and under her father’s protection, yet her cruel father traded her for his selfishness.
She was trying her best to protect her mother from the brutal father and the outside world.
The closer they arrived at the palace, the more she felt she would pass out from fear and anxiety. The carriage halted.
She looked outside through the carriage window. She didn’t expect to see the cruel accident in her life. So few fellows were whipping a boy and throwing shits on him.
They were around 15 years old, yet they beat the boy like mindless people, even blocking the road. Few carriages have blocked the road because of these boys.
Elise looked at these people, the boy these people beat who was bearing every whip hit silently as if he did not feel any pain in his body.
Elise felt a little sadness seeing this scene, just looking at the boy. She remembered the pain her older sister and her friends used to give her.
They also used to whip Elise like a dog; they used her as their punching bag. If anything terrible used to happen, they consistently used her to pour out their resentment.
Suddenly the boy looked up and met Elise’s eyes; his eyes were empty, nothing. As if there is no soul inside his body.
His eyes shook Elise’s heart. She couldn’t see him like this. He was bleeding, yet he didn’t even make a sound, not even tried to protest.
Elise wanted to get down from the carriage, but the chauffeur stopped her. He scowled at her.
Soon someone drove these boys away and helped the wounded boy.
People get back to their carriage and drive away. Elise looked at the boy for the last time, the boy also looking at her; this time, he was straight, looking into her eyes.
The chauffeur already drove their carriage away. Soon they entered the palace; the chauffeur left after Elise got down from the carriage.
She was standing in front of the palace’s main door. But, after hours, no one came to welcome her. Elise was like a lost dog in the western kingdom. She doesn’t know what to do and where to go.
After a long time, a maid appeared in front of her, looking at her; the maid showed sympathy “are you Elise Ford? they didn't even call her princess Ford
She asked her. Elise nodded,
“Come with me” the maid walked ahead of Elise, and Elise silently followed her. Soon they reached the royal court; the maid looked at the guards,
the guards looked at Elise and snorted, still went inside and announced the princess ford here.
When the king finally gave permission, the guards allowed Elise inside the courtroom.
Elise walked inside with her tiny feet. Even though Elise is the illegitimate daughter of king Ford, her mother taught her every rule of a princess. She bowed in front of the king and sat on her knees.
“Long live, your majesty,” she greeted him. The king looks at Elise from head to toe. Her appearance and calm personality pleased him, but he kept in mind why he needs her.
“Princess Elise, I hope your father already informed you everything; I hope you will stay within your limit. Your father sold you to the western kingdom, and I hope from now on, you will spend every breath you take for our west kingdom till your last breath.”
Princess Alice, the real future queen of the Western kingdom, will be the real queen. You are just a trophy of our western empire, and I hope you will keep this in your mind.”
The king’s harsh announcement took Elise off guards. She never expected such a bitter truth from the king. It was like someone picked her up from the boiled water and then threw her in boiled oil.
Elise is a girl who learned from her birth; she already reminds her heart,
“Elise Ford, desire nothing from your life” she has already foreseen such things in her life; she bowed again and accepted the decree from the king.
Everyone looked at Elise as if she was the biggest fool and disaster they have ever seen in their life.
