Chapter 4 ~ Eat you ~
She moved back on the bed and wanted to sleep after washing. But she heard some familiar sounds.
Elise didn’t put on any shoes as she ran outside to check if the boy came back or not. When she reached there, she saw the boy was throwing stones at the lake and looking everywhere.
Elise understands that if she goes there running, he might get scared and run away again, so she stood a few feet away from the boy and picked up a stone; she threw the stone in the lake. The boy spun his head and looked at her with a shocked face.
Checking her out, He stood and was about to run away when Elise shouted, "if you dare to run, I will follow you no matter where you go; you’re already a big boy yet hiding like five years old."
She was scolding him without realizing the boy was looking at her.
The boy was looking at her with a shocking expression on his face. Elise realized the boy was looking at her with his wide opened orifices.
"We met before meeting here," Elise asked the boy,
The boy was silent, Elise looked at the boy's wounds, he didn't apply medicine for his wounds yet, she frowned in anger "wait for me" Elise ran back but stopped after going few leaps, she looked back at him "don't you dare run away until I come back" she warned him in a stern voice.
The boy was still in a daze. Before he could register anything in his mind, the girl already ran back inside.
He couldn't decide what he should do, should he just runs away before she comes or waits for her, but he suddenly changed his mind and obediently waited as she told him,
He was not sure, but his mind and heart were telling him different things. So he stayed there as the small girl wanted.
After a while, the girl comes back with a small box in her hands.
She slowly walked toward him, but he stepped back, he looked spread, Elise was speechless "hey, I'm a little girl, it's not like I will eat you, I can't, we are no match for each other, you're a big boy hulk boy while I'm a ten-year weak girl."
Elise was a calm girl. Still, she doesn't know why she feels comfortable in his presence; it might be because he and she were pretty much alike. He was calm outside, even after beating those boys so severely, yet his eyes were showing his pain; she could feel his pain.
"Don't be scared; I will not hurt you, let me apply some medicine to your wounds" Elise stepped closer; this time, the boy didn't step back and stood straight in his posture.
Elise stood closer to the boy. She has finally seen his face, even though his face was covered with wounds. He looks too handsome; he had black hair, but ocean green eyes were like dazzling gems, breathtaking, especially at nighttime.
Elise smiled. "Your eyes look like gems; I like your eyes," she said, with no hidden intention. Still, she didn't know her words attacked the boy's heart; his heart was beating in remarkable speed, his face turned red from shyness.
He carefully looked at the girl's face; she was too small compared to him. Still, her beautiful jade face was enough to make him crazy; he was a timid boy, never dared to look at the girl's face because other girls always looked at his face with disgust; they called him a monster. They hate him because of his eyes.
First time in his life, someone says she likes his eyes. His gaze turned gentle.
"You know me; When I was coming to the Palace, some boys were beating you. They look so weak; why didn't you hit them in return? Why were you born with everything silently? Don’t you know silence means you're weak?
Elise was venting her anger; somehow, she talked about her; she called herself weak, not him; she also had the same fate as seeing his fresh wound, her old wound ripped open.
The boy could feel her pain and frustration "because they will hate me even more if I hit them back," the boy answered her. Elise looked at her with her widened eyes. She thought the boy was mute or dumb, that's why he hasn't responded, but it seemed he was not willing to talk to her even though he could talk.
Her mouth was hanging open. The boy raised his hand and closed her open mouth. Elise snapped back, and the boy realized what he had done.
He blushed as he lowered his head; Elise pointed her finger at him "you can talk?”
He nodded, she pouted, she got it wrong, but he looked like he couldn't talk; she was sure because while those boys whipped him, he didn’t make any sounds.
Elise was too small to think or blush like a fool, but she leaned back and looked at his ocean green.
“Why do you care about them? If they hit you again, just beat them; if they don’t want to like you, even you bear everything silently, they will never like you,
So don’t force yourself to make them like you, because if anyone wants to be like you, they will like you the way you are.”
Elise said in her firm tone that a potent emotion beyond her thought shook his heart like the sea waves.
But he was a champion of hiding his feelings; when Elise was done with his wound, she looked at him.
“Never change yourself for someone else because you’re a boy, not a girl like me. We girls are men's puppets, but you’re a boy, so be a man. But don’t become like these men, especially someone like the king,” she whispered in his ear, her gentle and hot breath; He fisted both hands.
Elise stepped away from him “don’t tell anyone I said this to you,” she pleaded with him; even though she was a brave girl, she knew if the king hears this, the king will behead her. However, the boy looks like an obedient boy, so she divulged her honest thoughts to him.
The boy nodded again.
