Something was tangled in his feathers, pleasant but a distraction from the black oblivion he’d escaped to. A harmonic chorus rose and fell around him. What the f**k was going on? Zophiel pried open his eyes. Lamps gave Levi’s room a soft glow, easy on his gritty eyes and barely bright enough to illuminate the creamy eggshell walls. Warmth was pressed full length down his right side, and his mate’s head was nestled on his shoulder. Everything was sore, like he’d been run over by a car. The music pulled him into more awareness.
