Chapter 12_The confession

Lucien didn’t pace. He stood completely still — like a statue sculpted out of fury, secrets, and shadow.
Evi sat on the edge of the bed, her heartbeat loud in her ears. Not just from fear. From anticipation.
> “Talk to me, Lucien.”
He turned slowly, eyes still glowing faintly red in the dark.
> “I’m not just a vampire,” he said. “I’m the heir to the Blackblood Throne — firstborn of the Night King.”
Silence.
Evi blinked.
> “You’re… royalty?”
“I was born into war,” he said coldly. “My family doesn't love. We conquer. And when I refused to rule the way they wanted… they tried to have me killed.”
She sucked in a breath.
> “I’ve been hiding ever since. Blending into cities, keeping to the shadows. Until I found this place. Until I found… you.”
He moved closer, every step measured, slow, deliberate.
> “Do you know what you’ve done to me, Evi?”
“I—”
“You made me want,” he breathed. “You made me soft. Weak. Human.”
His hand grazed her cheek. Cold. Gentle. Dangerous.
> “That’s not a compliment,” he whispered. “It’s a warning.”
She swallowed hard.
> “I don’t care who you are,” she said. “I don’t care what you were born into. I just… I care about you.”
He stared at her like she was a riddle he couldn’t solve.
> “Cassian won’t stop. He knows what you are to me. He’ll use you.”
> “What am I to you, Lucien?” she asked quietly.
He looked away for a second. When he looked back, his voice dropped to a growl.
> “Mine.”
And then he kissed her.
No hesitation. No fear. Just hunger.
His lips were cold but burned like fire against hers. She didn’t resist — she leaned in, fingers grabbing his shirt, pulling him closer.
But something changed in him.
He froze.
Pulled back.
> “I need to go,” he whispered hoarsely, stepping away.
> “Lucien—”
“If I stay,” he said, voice shaking, “I won’t stop.”
Then, just like that, he was gone — vanished into the night like smoke.
Evi sat on the bed, lips swollen from his kiss, heart wrecked.
And in the silence that followed, only one thing echoed in her mind:
