Chapter 2

last night was really awesome!

We watched an animated movie and baked cake together which, let me tell you was really fun because it turns out, we both didn't know how to turn on the micro oven and we had to google it. Can you believe it?  I mean, I  do have an oven at home but I rarely cook. just thinking about it makes me laugh out loud.

As I walk through the gate, I feel Benz walking alongside me. Don't ask me how but I just know when he is around me. You can say that it's because of our twelve years of friendship. Most of the friends in my school are into the notion that a boy and a girl can never be best friends because one day or the other, they will fall in love. That's insane I mean Benz is a guy who can be described as an idle "boyfriend" or whatever but I just don't see him as a lover you know. He is a friend who supports me. respects me and had been through all the bumps and hiccups of my life. To tell you the truth, he is the only friend that I have in my life but hey, I am not complaining.

so that is why most of the friends in my school are jealous of our friendship or to say it in a positive way, they just envy our friendship.

"knock knock.." well seems like I missed something that Benz said.

"what is it, Benz?" I ask just to annoy him and call it creepy but I love annoying him. it just makes my day.

"did you hear about the new girl in our school?" well someone surely seems excited.

"Nope," I try popping the "p" to which he rolls his eyes and continues "names Mia. I think we are friends on f*******: I don't know how but we are friends. so I stalked her account and you know what? She loves singing, dancing, going out on adventures, and the most beautiful part? she is very kind" I hate it when he gets excited and starts ranting about kinds of stuff.

"so?" I ask curiously. I mean I know that he is excited but then why is he so happy? well, students join and leave every year so what's new? unless....

"do you have a crush on her already?" I ask with curiosity. 

And guess what,  he is blushing!!! 

"oh-my-god!!! how can you like a person just by knowing her through f*******:?" I am really concerned now. I mean I do hear about love at first sight but I just feel that you should know the person before you fall for them. seems like people have different taste and preferences.

"thought you would say that and I know okay Car? Just that I really want to get to know her." his voice is really desperate and this makes me turn towards him and really look at him. Like really.  It's the first time he has shown interest in a girl and I feel obliged to help my best friend start his love life. That's just how we are. if one of us wants something, we help each other get it no matter how stupid or funny it is.

"so..." before I can utter my next word, I see our Literature teacher, Mrs. Simon heading towards the class so I drag him along with me and I sit as soon as I find an empty chair.

Well the class began with a quick intro to literature and the class began as usual. However, I don't know how and when but now we are talking about Astrology, and I am losing interest. I look around and it then that I notice a new face sitting next to me. 

"Are you by any chance Mia?" I whisper. Man, she can be the definition of perfect. I mean, she is beautiful with that chocolate-colored eyes and deep brown hair. She has the most perfect eyes, mouth everything!

"great job Benz" I laugh as I recall him rattling about Mia. 

she looks at me and then smiles before nodding and focusing on Mrs. Simon's lecture.  

Even her smile is perfect! I got to help my best friend. 

"I am sorry for disturbing you but, if you don't have any friends here, you can join me and my friend Benz for lunch" I blurt out because I am also excited to help my friend get the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen.

"thank you so much......" and even her voice is sweet

"Carrie" I smile back as I introduce myself.

"Yeah, Carrie, I would love that. You are a savior!" she seems really genuine with her words and now I am getting determined to help my friend get her. 

I hear the bell ring and stand up to find Benz. To introduce them formally and I see that he is still staring at Mia like a lost puppy. This is going to be fun.

"hey Benz" I call out for him and he looks at me irritated. As he heads towards my direction, I ask Mia"hey Mia, let me introduce you to y best friend Benjamin. I prefer Benz though" I say as I see Benz stopping right behind Mia. 

"Benz? Like the name of the car?" Mia asks innocently and this makes me laugh out loud.

"yeah, you can say that because I am something rare" Benz sassed. 

hmm... someone is really trying hard to impress.

"oh Benz, I invited Mia for lunch and I want you to show her around the campus" 

Mia looks at me and she seems a little taken aback. "you know, I really want to show you around but then I have to submit this book before 10 am today." I clarify as I take out my own personal novel.

yeah, I know, it a lame excuse but then that's all I can think of right now. 

so I look at Benz who is smirking by the way and looking at me with gratitude in his eyes. so I wave at them and head towards the library. I really hope that Benz doesn't mess things up with that girl. I mean, did you see her smile? It's so motherly and her eyes smile too. 

I head towards the library and decide to borrow a book. why? Because I love reading and getting into the world of stories. It comforts me. 

As I look around the library searching for a book, I have that creepy feeling again. I feel like I am being watched. I look around and I just see two of the guys who seem really occupied with what they are reading. without giving another thought I head right out of the library and decided to head towards my next class.
