Chapter 50: Enemies?
(Amber's POV)
The shrill ring of my phone jolted me awake at 9 a.m. I fumbled for it, my eyes still heavy with sleep.
"Aunt Amber?" Lucas's voice came through, sounding oddly urgent.
"Lucas? What's wrong?" I sat up, instantly alert.
"Uncle Dom's been acting weird. Can you come to pack headquarters today?" There was something in his tone I couldn't quite place.
I hesitated, remembering his comment about Dominic's possible affair. "Is she there?"
"Who? Oh—the she-wolf?" Lucas paused. "Yeah, she's scheduled for a meeting with him this morning."
My wolf Cora growled inside me, possessive and angry. "I'll be there."
