(Amber's POV)
Dominic carried me to the car, his strong arms cradling me against his chest. The warmth of his body seeped into mine, easing some of the pain from my injuries.
Once we were settled in the backseat and the car pulled away from the Blackwood mansion, I finally asked the question that had been burning in my mind.
"Why did you give Lucas that position?"
Dominic's lips curved into a slight smile. "Don't underestimate Lucas."
As the car merged onto the main road, Dominic instructed Felix to raise the privacy divider. Once we were alone, he pulled me onto his lap and kissed me passionately. The kiss was a mixture of tenderness and reprimand, his lips both gentle and demanding against mine.
I felt his wolf, Leo, rumble with contentment at having his mate in his arms.
