The hospital room was quiet after Dr. Marcus Gray finished his examination. He adjusted his glasses and looked at me with concern.
"You need rest, Ms. Chase. Your body needs time to recover from the trauma."
I nodded weakly, playing up my fragile state. "Thank you, doctor."
Dr. Gray turned to the others in the room. "I must insist that Ms. Chase be allowed to rest now. Visitors should be limited."
Dominic stepped forward. "I'll make sure she gets the rest she needs."
