Hannah really couldn't believe it when she saw the figure of the man in front of her, why was one of that damn mafia is here? Perhaps?!
“Why are you being so impolite, Hannah." Emily hastily pulled her daughter’s hand which pointed at the young man who was going to be matched to Hannah.
“Don't tell me that he will be my husband?" Hannah whispered to her mother with bulging eyes.
Before Emily could answer, the man that Hannah had pointed at approached them, “Good night, Miss. Do you mind if I become your partner?” interrupted the man with a smile.
Hannah also turned to the man still with a sharp gaze, "Don't you already know who I am, are you sure you still want to be with me?" asked Hannah seriously.
Hannah is surprised by the man who she still doesn't know his name, he knows that Hannah is a detective, if that man marries with her, wouldn't it be dangerous for his mafia group?
Charles cleared his throat softly to interrupt his daughter’s rage. Hannah came back to her senses when she heard the voice of her father, she didn’t expect to be too focused on the man in front of her.
Hannah quickly averted her eyes and turned away from the man.
“Forgive my daughter’s behaviour, Mr Raymond," said Charles feeling bad for his friend.
“It's all right, let's sit down first," replied Philip Raymond, inviting his guests to sit down first.
Hannah silently sat there and the man who was troubling Hannah sat right next to her, Hannah just rolled her eyes lazily when she realized that.
Hannah just sat there quietly while her parents were talking to the parents of the man next to her. If know that the situation will be like this, Hannah wouldn't have come here today.
Just as Hannah felt that boredom was starting to overwhelm her, she heard a slight voice from next to her.
“Hey, you. Aren't you curious about my name?" asked the man who would be Hannah’s husband.
Hannah turned with a sharp gaze at the man, "I don't think I need to know your name," Hannah replied curtly.
"Thomas Raymond, you can call me Thomas or if you want you can call me ‘darling'." Thomas ignored what Hannah said and continued to introduce himself to the girl.
Hannah glared angrily when she heard Thomas’ words, "Don't expect me to call you like that!"
She heard Thomas chuckle softly when he heard Hannah’s reply to his joke. "For your question earlier, I have no problem with you being a detective," replied Thomas whispering right next to Hannah’s ear.
Suddenly, Hannah distanced herself from the man and replied while raising her eyebrows challenging Thomas, "Really?"
"I never go back on my word," replied Thomas smirking, not afraid of Hannah’s provocation.
“What if I reject this matchmaking?” Hannah asked to see Thomas’s reaction.
“That's your problem," Thomas replied curtly.
Thomas’ answer again annoyed Hannah, she was confused about whether the man was serious or not. Why is his answer even like that?
“It seems that there is no need to discuss about this matchmaking anymore, seeing that how close you are at this time," said Philip, smiling happily seeing that his son getting along intimately with his partner.
“What?" Hannah turned to the parents in shock, she didn't expect that she and Thomas had been so close that their parents become misunderstood with them.
"Of course, Father. I really enjoyed talking to Hannah," said Thomas, smirking at Hannah, who looked still in shock.
"Then you two will getting married next week!" said Charles smiling, happy that finally, someone was willing to be Hannah’s partner.
Charles didn't want to delay his daughter's wedding, the sooner will be bette for Hannah, he didn't want Hannah to change her mind and make this arranged marriage discontinued.
Philip didn't seem to mind Charles's plan either, the only one who was even more shocked by the development of this situation was Hannah.
Because she had promised her parents to agree with this arranged marriage, Hannah could only agree with the wedding plans that their parents had in mind.
The meeting that day ended with the decision that the next week would be Hannah’s wedding day with a mafia leader named Thomas Raymond.
Before going home with her parents, Hannah tell to her mother that she want to go to the toilet first.
“I'll be waiting for you downstairs," Emily said when Hannah said she wanted to go to the toilet.
Hannah immediately ran to the toilet quickly. When Hannah came out of the toilet after finishing her business in there, she was surprised to find Thomas standing not far from where Hannah was now.
When passing the man, Hannah pretended not to know and walked past Thomas just like that. However, Hannah could not be run away from the man easily.
"Can we talk for a minute?" said Thomas managed to make Hannah stop her steps.
“Is there still have something to talk about?" Hannah answered without facing Isaac.
"I'll pick you up in three days to fitting our wedding dress." After saying what he wanted to say, Thomas walked away leaving Hannah behind.
Silently, Hannah watched Thomas leave. Before continuing her steps, Hannah first took a deep breath and calmed herself, after that Hannah walked back to meet her parents who were already waiting for her downstairs.
. . .
After a day of meeting with Thomas family, Hannah is back to busy with her routine as a detective. Because the cases she handles have not yet more clue, Hannah is getting more and more busy with her work.
It's been three days since the beautiful girl has not returned to her house and is fading in her office to investigate the case she is working on with other members of her team.
Until this afternoon Hannah received a short message on her cellphone, she found that the one who contacted her was Thomas who said he would pick her up to do their wedding dress fitting.
“Oh no! I forgot about the invitation,” said Hannah, rubbing her head lightly as she remembered that she had an appointment with Thomas.
"Did you forget something, Hannah?" asked Alex when he saw Hannah’s surprised reaction.
"Yeah, I forgot that today I have an appointment with someone," Hannah replied while biting her fingernails nervously.
Hannah decided to call Thomas, luckily the man picked up the call right away.
"Where are you?" asked Hannah directly.
"On the way to your house," Thomas replied simply.
“Don't go there and pick me up at my work, I forgot that today I have an appointment with you, so I haven't gone home yet." Hannah immediately told Thomas that she was still in her office.
Hannah didn’t hear an answer from Thomas, she feel nervous waiting for Thomas’ to answer her, "Is he mad at me?" Hannah thought nervously.
