CHAPTER 31

1303 Words
The sea creature, as I assume is too preoccupied. Perhaps Amanikable can keep him busy to buy me a little time and run after the Falfeg. And while they're at it, I quickly dash off beside them—running quickly as I can towards the Falfeg. And as I have come closer to it, I immediately grab for the haft. It was too late when Amanikable bellowed, "DON'T TOUCH IT!" towards me. The moment my palm clasped the haft, an immense glow from the ground lits the polearm from the barbs thrust on the floor, up to the end of the haft that nearly blinded me. At the same time, it gave out an extreme pressure of heat that is nearly burning my palm. It was as though the Falfeg only recognizes one wielder. That's why after touching it, it suddenly becomes so furious reacting this way. The heat was followed by painful shockwaves in my veins. This must be the same pain the sea creature had received earlier. Yet, this didn't stop my determination to help Amanikable, I forced my two hands to pull the Falfeg from the floor. It's really torturing me. It feels as though my hands will break any moment further. But I have to keep trying. "I need to help him, so whether you like it or not you have to come with me!" as if this Falfeg was even listening, I instantly got it out from the ground before something bad happens. Amanikable tossed the sea creature outward by kicking its stomach. His large footsteps running towards me didn't even take long. "That was a stupid move!" he immediately scolds me just after taking the Falfeg away from my hands. Being kicked aside made the sea creature even furious this time. It produced a shrieking cry. It's clever that the sound was like it was calling for reinforcement. Amanikable was quick to ack on it by swiftly putting force to drags me out of the scene and back within the elevator. While he's doing that, I remain shielded against the sea creature behind Amanikable. His Falfeg's seven pairs of barbs face the sea creature, and this prevents it from any of its probable onslaught attacks against us. Now I understand why this sinalawatan is feared by other mythical creatures. It envokes a strong power and a real-deal capability of defeating—or rather killing promptly—anyone who dares to steal it from its original wielder that is Amanikable. And just as I suspected, a bunch of the sea creature's kind came approaching from the end of the tunnel nearing behind the sea creatures' side. Where do these creatures are coming from? "This time never leave where you are this time. Otherwise, I can't guarantee your safety." He told me. "Their number is so many, you can't possibly defeat them all?!" I protested back. I sounded pathetic right now, hearing myself so concern and anxious over a man I recently hated so much. Fate has been really playing the fool of me. "Their numbers are still no match for me. Even if they call a hundred, thousands more—I'll definitely kill them all!" He answered back. I think I have just forgotten that he is, after all, a pre-colonial God. His words were too deep that it gives me that fearsome vibe even though they weren't addressed for me. It still feels as though his words have left a sharp overpowering sting inside. Amanikable swings his Falfeg enough to slice off ten sea creatures in one attack. I tried maintaining the low shriek I create for every time Amanikable swiveled his sword and kills multiple numbers of them in a single strike. So this is the power of that sinalawatan, and when induced by Amanikable's redoubtable strength--he just becomes a deadly monster you'll never wish to have as an opponent on the battlefield. The numbers of his adversary were endless. It was as if they keep on multiplying without our notice. And that no matter how many times Amanikable killed ten, a dozen or more in each of his charges, it looks more like they don't turn less at all. Amanikable is still busy moving on each side to prevent them from getting any closer to us when I didn't notice one of the sea creatures with a small physique was able to get past Amanikable's lethal retribution. With its medium-sized claws, it was able to cause superficial scratches across my arms that I used to screen me from its attack. It’s a good thing that Amanikable was able to get back at me and bestow this small predator the due reward for its ridicule attempt of harming me and disregarding this God's omnipotence. "You think you could get away, you fool?!" Amanikable stressed as he chunks off its head, splashing some dewy black fluid all over the place. It even leaves out a foul smell that makes me feel like I am about to throw up. "You," he called out to me as he continues surging against the sea creature's reckless attacks. "--You can't be here anymore." he continued. What does he mean about that? Will he be setting me free now? Or does he mean to rant on me now of all moments? I was only able to understand what he meant when he pushed me further inside the elevator and destroyed some kind of sensor outside with his Falfeg, "I'll follow soon." he said before he turns his back on me with those unreadable face he has. And just before the elevator door meets in between, I heard him told the freaking sea creatures, "Now let's play, shitheads." My hands were trying to reach for him but it was too late, the door has finally shut and I could no longer see him as the elevator moves back to the main floor. Was I holding him back that's why he'd better send me off than letting me stay by his side? I guess his decision is good enough as If I could be of any help at all If I choose to stay there. I know he's a pre-colonial God, but the numbers of his enemies are too unfair in counting compared to him doing the defense and attack all alone. I don't want to overthink that he might end up being killed. That something inside my chest again hurts and it's like it wanted me to get back there and help but aside from the fact that I can't do anything to fight back anyway, the sensor back there is already broken. Thanks to him, I can no longer go back. The elevator's movement felt slow as I even had enough spare time to notice the scratches in my arms. It's nearly covered with thin lines of my blood. The sting is slowly registering in my senses and it is slowly giving me discomfort. My head's dizziness is also coming its way to return or was it because of my hematophobia? I can't be more feeble than I am now. If I can't help Amanikable hand on hand in his battle, I should at least fight my weakness to get Amanikable some extra help he will be needing to fight off those hideous sea creatures. And just as the elevator door spreads wide open, it revealed Leandro beyond it together with some maids who instantly run towards me. "Miss Emalia!" Leandro cried as he, too, approach to get me inside the elevator. "Leandro, send him some help. Send Amanikable some help." I plead. Seeing my blood just stimulates the effect of my phobia against me. I rested my head on Leandro's shoulders and it was the last thing I could remember along with Leandro's last words asking, "Who's Amanikable, miss Emalia?" ***
