CHAPTER 29

1092 Words
Perhaps the heavens must have heard me pleading for rescue that's why out of nowhere, the master of the household was revealed beyond the elevator after it opened once more. I can't help my tears from continuously pouring from my eyes anymore. They're no longer controllable ever since I saw him again. I feel like at this moment, I only wish to run towards him and seek his protection against this creepy creature that’s about to kill me. I tried to spring up from kneeling quite too long but then, I felt as though my legs were shaking too much that I could barely manage to adjust balancing my phase. I was struggling enough, only to completely lose my balance and fall on the ground once more, but the master's muscular arm was quick enough to catch me just an inch away before my face could even kiss the ground. The impact made me felt a light collision in my belly which he seemed to notice as he suddenly assisted me back on my feet. His oceanic-blue eyes scrutinized me as I anticipate his rant, "What were you even doing here, Woman?" he told me in an instant. And before I could speak back, He titled my body to slammed on his strong chest. "I-I...." my fear that keeps on triggering me to cry just prevents me to say it as well. But even if I wasn't crying, I highly doubt I could even have the tinge of courage to tell him that the reason why I am here was that, I was trying to escape his dome just a while ago. If I tell him that now, he might just decide to leave me be here. He wouldn't care to save me from being a tenacious one. The master might even enjoy watching me be eaten by the creature—who is currently groaning—from a distance before us The creature's noise disrupts the master's attention towards me. He helped me quickly to move behind his back. And that's the only time when I perceived that he's actually wearing body armor. No wonder why it hurts when he caught me in his arm then clasped me towards his chest a few moments ago. I wonder where he had been that made him wear such? "Don't move there, I'll just finish this off." He said in a dull tone, as usual, it’s like the creature before him didn’t even terrify him a bit. I suddenly envied the courage he is generating right now. How I wish I could be as brave as this man so that I wouldn't be this damsel-looking pitiful individual here. I've always been like this and I hate it. All of a sudden, the master took a long shiny silver Falfeg with a formidable seven pair of barbs that’s just happen to be resting aside. Did he bring that along with him? Because I hadn't seen it when I used the elevator earlier. I can’t help but suddenly be curious about the weird yet familiar armor suit he’s wearing. It looks like it was too pre-colonial—like it was between the time of early civilization in the Philippines before the colonization—yet too divine. Even the seemingly pre-colonial weapon like that Falfeg on his hand. Just who is this master, really? My intuition brought me back to a recollection of a very slight fact about it when I was helping Thalia in finding details about the legendary Kampilan. It took me quite the research about weaponry in the pre-colonial times that time and I can't be wrong about this weapon. If I am not mistaken, that's the powerful Sinalawatan owned by one of Bathala's allied Gods and Goddesses. That God used to protect the mountains until he turned into the God of the Seas. "What a worthless creature! I thought I've already killed you back in the Caldera. How dare you infiltrate my dome." The master told the creature as he tightly holds the Falfeg's golden haft. His blow was too quick that the creature didn't even have the chance to escape or even dodge it off at least. The master was even too sharp hitting the bull's eye. It’s not a wonder, I’ve seen his skills back in the indoor shooting range. And as if the Falfeg was equipt with some kind of an electric wave, it quickly assaults the creature with a shockwave that is slowly killing it while piercing it with the worst torture unimaginable. Just witnessing it from the distance, a passage from that certain Philippine Weaponry website suddenly came to my head. The passage says that the Sinalawatan was believed to be a powerful legendary weapon used during wars by a certain Mountain God. It is also said that when he goes into the mountains to patrol over his former realm, it becomes his valued weapon solely to protect him against his divine enemies and other mythical creatures lurking within his territory, wishing to harm him and take away the weapon. But as long as he carries this weapon, all his enemies withdraw back the moment they see it because they were too afraid of this formidable array of barbs. There was even this unpopular lore that says its barbs symbolizes the numbers of powerful deities killed by the weapon in their attempt of defeating the said God. It instantly gives you the shudder to know that the more barb it possesses, the more fearful it looks and the more ferocious the wielder becomes. This wielder becomes so famous that the chief god, Bathala, soon entrusted the realm of the seas to him. And that many people still say, that this fearsome god is still currently ruling the seas up to this day. This wielder of the Sinalawatan is no other than the tyrant sea God—Amanikable. Amanikable—the sea God with ferocious-looking oceanic-blue eyes, and an ill-tempered attitude that resembles the waves changing its approach on the shore from time to time. Why hadn't I notice it until now that this man they call master, the man who had held me here captive, and the man who had just saved me now is no other than the sea God, Amanikable? Is it because he's too modern-looking to be a God? He's too human in my vision to be compared to a mythical God? I shouldn't be surprised. I've already met the moon Goddess and even encountered the moon-eating beast, why would I even doubt their existence now?
