Chapter 9: First date

It was Sunday, I lazily woke up and looked at my phone to see what time it was.
12:36…gosh And then several flashes from yesterday started to come to my mind. The wedding, Kyle, the discussion, the dance, Sophie with the flowers, drinks, the party, Kyle’s eyes on me, me looking at him, more drinks, Alpha Parker saying he’s going to miss me…that was hard to hear… And Kyles eyes again, whispers to his sister, more drinks… How many drinks I had?
My head hurt a little bit, nothing that ibuprofen and a cold shower cant fix.
I took my phone to play some music while I was getting in the shower when I realized a had a text message. From an unknown number, but of course, it was him.
Good morning Ely, It’s Kyle. I hope you had fun yesterday and that our chat on the balcony didn’t ruin it. I was hoping to see you today to chat more calmly and get to know each other. Please let me know if that’s okay with you.
That was quite formal - I thought. I guess after what happened yesterday he didn’t know how to approach me.
I took a shower to calm myself down and think about what to answer. But before I was finished my phone rang.
Why can’t he wait?!
But it wasn’t Kyle…
-Hi Liam, are you okay?
-What’s up bro? How is your hangover?
-I didn’t drink that much, what about you?
-I’m good, me and some friends are going bowling, do you want to come? You can Bring Sophie if you want.
-Emm…I have other plans, thanks.
-With Sophie?
-No
-Another friend?
-No
-With Netflix?
-No Liam, I meeting Kyle.
-Eleonor… are you sure?
-I need to, I have to.
-But do you want to? Do you want to see him?
-I do.
- Okay- Liam sighed- If anything happens or you need help you know I will be listening…
- I know, I know – I said while rolling my eyes.
Once my body was dry, I took the phone again to answer Kyle. I wasn’t sure what to say or where to meet. Does this count as our first date?
Hi, yesterday was fun. I hope you had fun too. What about at 4 p.m in the entrance of the forest you know?
Sounds good. See you there.

It was 4.05 and I’d been here for 20 minutes. I hope I’m in the right place. I didn’t want to be late but the waiting is killing me… I have so many things to tell her, there are so many things I want to know about her…
Suddenly I could smell her, the best smell I will ever be able to smell. And then I saw her, wearing comfy clothes and just a little bit of makeup.
-Hi Ely.
-Hi.
- I wanted to say sorry about yesterday, I know it’s a complicated situation, and it's not how we both imagined it. I shouldn’t have left you like that.
- Okay, it’s fine.
- I hope you understand that it's hard for me, and it’s a complicated situation for both of us.
- I do. I wouldn’t say it’s the same, but for both of us… it's complicated. I guess my position makes everything unusual.
- I guess. But I wanted to meet to get to know you. Take things slowly even if it’s hard.
- Sounds like a good idea.
I smiled, we were getting there. We were agreeing on things. And I was feeling our connection. She smiled too but looked at the floor while she put her away from her face.
-So, do you want me to show you the forest?- she said.
-I would love to. Did you have fun yesterday?
- I did, it was really stressful to organize everything but I guess it was worth it.
- Did your Alpha help?
-Tss, not too much.
-You looked beautiful yesterday.
- Thanks…- she blushed- The dress was from Sophies’s shop
- Your friend?
- Yeah, the one with the flowers. - And she made an interpretation of her friend when she caught the flowers.
- I remember her haha.
- What about you? And your family? Did you all have fun?- She asked looking at my eyes.
-Well, um- I had to look the other way to avoid blushing too- I’m not a huge weddings fan. But I had a good time, I guess Claire and Josh enjoyed it too. Claire is married so she kept comparing it to her wedding.
- Anything she didn’t like?
-Just a couple of things she wished were on her wedding day.
And we kept walking and talking about our family, our packs, what we like, what we don’t… I could notice how our connection was true, and becoming stronger.
-Ely, I love talking to you but…
- But?
- Would you like to go for a run? - I looked at those hazel eyes. Waiting for an answer. Waiting for a yes to come out from those lips.
- Sure.- she said smiling.
Go for a run it's a usual thing for a new couple when they meet their mate. It lets the wolf sniff each other, run free, connect to another level, make everything flow. In the run everything becomes natural.
I changed into my wolf form and she did the same. She led because she knew the place and I didn’t. But soon I started playing with her, some kind of a chase thing. She is fast but I’m faster. We run for 20-30minutes. And then we started pushing each other in a playful way but then she started running again next to the river. I reach her and made her stop. We were breathing heavily.
I changed into my human form.
-Change- I told her.
She looked at me with a curious expression on her face. She tilted her head trying to understand.
-Change – I said once more, this time it was more like a command.
She changed into her human form wondering what were my intentions.
I held her face with one hand and quickly wrapped her waist with the other arm.
And I kissed her.
