From Beta to Luna, an Alpha's love

Chapter three : the arrival of the guests

I was jumping with joy, it was a day when practically everyone was busy. The neighborhood looked more beautiful than ever, everyone cleaning the streets, putting the freshest flowers, cleaning the windows of the shop windows ... and me? It was my day off! After hanging around in bed for a while, I got up, made myself some green juice, and put on my gray tracksuit. In ceremonies such as weddings, there are fighting games and other types of competitions, and it is not that I am out of shape but it never hurts to train a little.

I hit the gym and tied my hair into two braids before starting to warm up. Luckily there were not many people and it allowed me to use a wide variety of machines. While I was walking on the treadmill Sophie wrote to me.

“Too much stress in the gym? The first Alphas have already started to arrive. "

"I could not choose a better day" -I replied- "Unfortunately I can not miss dinner, your day well?"

"I'm cleaning the boutique, mom has been hysterical thinking that some Luna might come in looking for a last-minute accessory or dress"

"Hahaha lucky you, see you later xx"

"Enjoy xx"- Thanks to Sophie and her boutique I have an amazing dress for the wedding, and of course I invited her to be my +1.

After finishing my training, I needed to refresh myself so I got back to my car and drove north. I knew that most of the guests would arrive from other directions and in this way I could avoid them. I parked the car at the entrance of the forest, I left my belongings inside it and the keys hidden under a bush. And without a second thought, I shifted and ran. It was a bit cold, it was April, but it was sunny which helped me to be in a good mood, I kept running as if trying to break a record, jumping every obstacle, and looking to have the wind head-on.

We had recently arrived, luckily we were only a few hours away by car. We were told to wait in the reception room and that Alpha Parker would welcome us right away. While we waited, the alpha and beta of the Red Claw Pack arrived. Why does there always have to be a color in the name of the pack? I don't understand that trend.

-Alpha Parker, it's a pleasure, I am Alpha River of the Red Claw pack, and this is my Beta Roger.- he said extending his hand. I reciprocated by shaking her firmly while looking into her eyes.

-A pleasure, I hope you had a good trip.

-Yes, thank you.- And he proceeded to sit with his beta on one of the sofas.

I heard Josh clear his throat and motion for me to sit next to him. I didn't want to, I was too uncomfortable and tense. But in the end, I gave in.

-Very polite to ask about their trip,- he told me whispering.

- I don't know what that tone of surprise comes to.

While we waited, two other alphas arrived, to which I reluctantly had to introduce myself, although I always kept my composure and tried to show myself something closer. Claire was good at it, I let her do most of the social work and she was talking to the Lunas. According to her, they are a good source of information. Finally, the protagonist of this entire event arrived.

-Sorry for the inconvenience, the final days are always the most stressful and there are still some things to organize. - Said shaking our hands - let me introduce you to my future wife and Luna from the Blue Moon pack, Carol.

- My pleasure- she said, bowing slightly.

-And as some of you already know,- he continued, -he is my Omega Liam.-

- And your Beta Alpha? .- I had not stopped to think about it but it's a good point, we are all here with our betas and closest people.

-Patrolling the border,- he said quickly. - Don't worry, my beta will be at dinner tonight.-

-Are you sure you don't mean shopping?- Said Alpha River. Several assistants let out a soft laugh, I did not understand the joke but I saw how Claire shook her head at the same time that she rolled her eyes.

-Are you questioning my Beta in my own house?- Alpha Parker said with an intimidating tone, his Omega also looked tense.

-I'm sorry Alpha, it wasn't my intention, just a little joke,- he said putting his hands up as if he were in an assault.

We went back to our rooms, the truth was that they were quite spacious but it is not the same as being at home. There was a knock on the door and Josh, Claire, and Mark entered.

-Yes? - I did not like to see them all together, it seemed that they were going to make an intervention.

- The next Alphas arrive won't come until the afternoon.- Josh said.

-"Wait," I said, interrupting. "Arriving in the afternoon was an option?"

- Our pack is very close, if we arrive later than others it would be strange.- I grunted, I did not like getting up early and less if it is not necessary.

- For what we come is that we have some free hours, there are interesting places to visit.- Claire said.

-No, I'm going to run - I said as I opened the map of my mobile.- Where do most of the packs come from?

-"Well ..." Josh said, thinking for a few seconds.- "Most from the south and the minority ... I would say the north."

-"Good"- I replied.- "Don't look for me, I need to free myself."

-"don't forget about dinner!" I heard Claire say in the background. Sometimes she could be very annoying.

I waited to get to the forest to shift, the wind was blowing from the east, I had been running for probably half an hour when I stopped immediately. I smelled the best of aromas, my pupils dilated, it was like a summer breeze with hints of jasmine. It could not be, in a remote forest of another pack, where I refused to come. Is this where my mate is? I felt how my blood ran through my body faster, I licked my snout to smell better and followed the trail. This time the wind hit me head-on and only one word resounded in my head: "MATE"
