"I don't know what to say," Robert told her, honestly. "I think it is great that you have found a path for yourself. You've really changed as a person, and I wish you all the best for your future." He didn't really have much else to say to her, and he was feeling like it was a bit of a bummer that he was sitting next to her for this dinner.
"So what are you up to?" she asked.
He told her that he was following his original plan to become a general practitioner, and he was passing all of his classes with honors and doing great. He had a lot of friends at medical school, and his professors were teaching him all he needed to know to care for individuals and families throughout the life cycle.
