Chapter 11: Master, Please Enjoy the Tea

1319 Words
A few minutes later, the spirit disappeared like mist. There was no sound. The members of the Wolf Hunting Team lay unconscious on the ground. Their minds were almost broken. "Already down? Too weak. This isn’t even fun." The girl slowly came down from the sky. The mission was too easy. She didn’t enjoy it at all. If Rao Tian and Li Ning were there, they would recognize the girl. She was Zhang Yan, the one who had disappeared from their class. After the college entrance exams, she went out at night to visit her boyfriend. She planned to study some biology with him. But she was caught by her master and turned into a blood servant. Her task was to capture small teams at night and control them with evil spirits. Zhang Yan knew that humans controlled by her master’s evil spirits could pass security checks. She didn’t know why her master wanted to control these teams. That was part of a secret plan from someone else. "Never mind. I’ll report back now." She waved her hand. The bats flew toward Li Ran and the others. Suddenly, a strange noise came from the grass. "Huh? What’s that?" Zhang Yan was confused when a wolf-like creature jumped out. It charged like a streak of gray lightning at the Heart-Eating Ghost in the air. A flash of light passed. The Heart-Eating Ghost lost its head. Three of its hands and half its body vanished. Zhang Yan was stunned. She realized something important. "How can a physical attack harm a Heart-Eating Ghost?!" The creature in front of her was a werewolf. It was a fierce beast. Its body looked like a gray wolf. Its fur was thick and rough, light and dark gray. Its eyes were emerald green, deep and cunning. "A werewolf? What is this? Why is it here?" In the quiet night, under the moonlight, the werewolf and Zhang Yan faced each other. It crouched low. Its claws stretched out. It was ready to strike. Its eyes glowed with deadly intent, focused on Zhang Yan. A chill ran through Zhang Yan’s body. The threat of death was close. It was clear the werewolf had marked her as its next target. She had to act quickly, or she would die. "I’ll see what you can do, daring to challenge me." Zhang Yan raised her hands and cast a spell. She summoned dozens of bats to surround the werewolf. The Heart-Eating Ghost recovered and sent spirits into the battle. But the werewolf didn’t care about the bats or spirits. Its focus was only on Zhang Yan, still floating in the air. It crouched low again. Then, with a powerful push, it jumped toward her. "What?!" Zhang Yan was falling and couldn’t rise. She quickly called the bats back to try to block the attack. The werewolf tore through the bats with ease. It continued charging, its claws bared. Its eyes were full of hunger, as if ready to devour her. "Dammit! I can’t dodge it!" Zhang Yan tried to twist her body to avoid the blow. But the werewolf’s claws slashed her thigh, causing blood to pour out. "Ah! Damn beast!" Pain shot through her body. She grabbed her bleeding thigh and cursed loudly. The wound was deep. The werewolf landed lightly and took another attacking stance. Its muscles were tense, ready to strike again. A cold wind filled the air. Zhang Yan’s face showed fear. She knew she couldn’t win, but she still shouted, "Little beast, if I see you again, I’ll kill you!" She ran with the bats, not daring to stay any longer. The remaining evil spirit didn’t pose any threat. It tried to resist, but a single swipe from the werewolf ended its existence. Actually, Fu Yu hadn’t really fainted. She fell early, pretending to be unconscious to avoid the spirit’s attack. They all knew that an evil ghost skilled in mental attacks wouldn’t appear without reason. Someone else was behind it. Lying on the ground, Fu Yu tightly gripped her silver dagger. She was ready to strike if the enemy came close. She was sure she could kill them. She heard the sounds of a fierce battle, but she didn’t dare to look up. She was afraid she’d become a target. Then, she felt a few raindrops. Along with them came a strong, disgusting smell of blood. Fu Yu’s nerves immediately tensed. What was going on? Who was fighting? After a while, everything went quiet. Fu Yu slowly lifted her head and met a pair of glowing green eyes. It was a fierce werewolf. Even without showing its teeth, its terrifying presence made Fu Yu feel like death was near. This was the first time Fu Yu had faced a werewolf up close. She gathered all her strength and jumped up. She threw a water pouch at the werewolf, then pulled out her dagger to strike at its heart. "Die!" But the werewolf reacted quickly. It caught the water pouch and threw it back at Fu Yu’s face. It then stepped back. "What?!" The water pouch exploded, releasing a foul odor that spread in all directions. The smell was unbearable, worse than a skunk’s. Fu Yu immediately passed out from the stench. "I... ugh..." Nearby, the Wolf Hunting Team members, already unconscious, fell deeper into their stupor. The clever werewolf took this chance. It picked up the team members and threw them into a warehouse. "They really like to ambush," Rao Tian thought. He had just wanted to check on the team but was caught off guard by Fu Yu. His heart was still pounding. Next, he would follow the plan and continue with his disguise. Rao Tian used his claws to destroy the cameras of the Wolf Hunting Team members. He kicked over their shields to expose their emblems. Since the emblems were facing up, it would complicate his next steps. "Zhang Yan, tsk tsk, serves you right for getting caught by me." Rao Tian didn’t feel bad about capturing his former classmate. He knew she had been possessed by an evil entity. This girl was good at making tea. She liked forcing her classmates to drink, which made everyone dislike her. Next, Rao Tian locked the warehouse door from the outside and threw away the keys. He moved to the window, preparing for the final part of his plan. He gathered his strength and jumped through the window. He had to change back into his human form when passing through the window, or he would get stuck. As he grabbed the window edge, Rao Tian noted that the window was about 2.5 meters above the ground. "Here goes. Can’t catch the wolf without letting go of the cub." Rao Tian fell, hitting the ground with a thud. The pain was intense, almost making his heart leap out. He lay on the ground for a moment to recover. Afterward, he got up, took a shield from his clothes, and pulled out a pair of contact lenses. He transformed back into a werewolf and threw the shield out the window, letting it fly free. To remove any suspicion, Rao Tian gritted his teeth. He used his claws to tear into his arm, leaving deep marks. Blood poured out, and Rao Tian was panting. His body trembled from the effort. In that moment, he felt like he was hurting himself to deceive others. But the pain helped keep him alert. He changed back into human form, put on his clothes, and carefully observed the emblem. After several transformations, his body was at its limit. He felt weak, and his injuries couldn’t heal. This wasn’t an act. He had only one final step left. A few minutes later, Rao Tian got up and pretended to shake the Wolf Hunting Team members awake. Then, he took a signal flare from Li Ran’s backpack and fired it out the window.
