Rejected And Jailed

ARIA'S POV Dreams about moments like this in my life were always a sham to me. I thought I had been banned from smiling for the rest of my life. Now, with the help of Kael, once he's finally installed as the Alpha. Looking for my sworn enemy that has orchestrated the plan of massacring my parents won't be too hard. Once again, after twelve years of hard suffering, overwhelming feelings of joy clouded my mind. Surely, a new chapter in my life had just begun. =========== =========== My eyes blinked rapidly against the light. It retreated immediately back into its socket. I rolled to the edge, but the settings of the room caught my attention. Maybe what was going on yesterday didn't make me realize how magnificent the room was. I slept on a mahogany sleigh bed. A matching dresser and mirror, a sitting area with a chase lounge and throw pillows greeted me at the other edge of the bed. The whole decor was done in earth tones. I felt obliged to look for Kael as he was nowhere within my sight. And from the structure of this room, it was either his own room or his father's, Alpha Ryker. There's possibly no way he would take me to his father's room, even if he's not present. I rubbed my tummy as it groaned; I guess I had starved it for a long time. I ate little or nothing yesterday. I got up gladly as I sighted some burgers in trays, placed carefully on a stool; Kael must have ordered them for me. I had almost finished the burgers when Kael barged out of the toilet. "You should be careful of what you eat, you don't know when your enemies will launch an attack on you." I dropped the last piece as he said that. Enemies? Oh, yeah, Lyra. Suddenly, I found Kael peering at me, an amused look on his handsome face. He sniffed at my scent as his nose flared, then his countenance changed, "You should get going once you are done." I cracked my brain to unravel what he had meant, but it was to no avail. His facial expression had transformed from that smiling handsome guy into something truly sinister; he looked like a serial killer. A dull pain sets in behind my temples as my brain tries to process the data he had given me, into information. When he had noticed I had not been able to elucidate what he had said, he came near me and knelt down beside me. His lips were just a few inches away from my ear. His deep voice, which had once made me blush, sent shivers down my spine and his non-placating words fell on deaf ears, "I SAID LEAVE!" He got dressed in a swift mode and made to leave the room but my timid shaking voice held him back, "Did you really exploit me without any regard for my feelings?" I couldn't hold the tears any longer, they forced themselves out of their socket. He walked slowly towards me, my heartbeat proliferated with each step. "Why would I leave Lyra, the daughter of a powerful beta and stoop so low to appoint a low Omega like you as my Luna? You're too gullible. A low-class orphan like you should be happy that you get to meet with me, Alpha Kael, before your demise." Each word stung my flesh, causing it to bleed invisibly. He had decided to dump me within a blink of an eye, or maybe he really never thought of keeping me for too long initially. "No, I refuse to be trampled on. I won't leave!" I mustered all the courage in me to push those words out. From the look in his steely blue eyes, I realized all the feelings he had for me all this while was mere lust. Kael rejecting me seemed like the end of my life. Where else would I go to? To my boss who had maltreated me like a pig day and night? Or to meet my parents deep down in the grave? I didn't know when tears started trickling down my cheek, they mustered around my chin and dropped on the bed little by little. The bang of the door brought me back to my senses. Kael had left. I tried to stand up, but I found myself back on the bed. My leg staggered against the bare floor. 'Be strong Aria. You have to make him come back to his senses.' I consoled myself and made to stand up again. I took a quick bath in his heavenly bathroom and wore one of his shirts again. There were no ladies' clothes here, and I was not ready to put on Lyra's own even if she offered to lend me. I walked around the house, looking at how beautiful it was. I just hope I won't bump into anybody. Especially Axel. I sighted Lyra's room from afar. Was he also pretending to be harsh towards Lyra to get under my pants? Gosh! I was still lost in thought when I heard... the bumping. Not a regular, foot shuffling bumping like someone walking around. This bumping had a rhythm to it. More like a beat. I stepped forward, tiptoeing to the door of her room. Yes, the noise came from her room, directly overhead. Women's intuition rose from my belly to form a lump in my chest that ascended my throat. The hairs on the back of my neck stood at attention. I tried to reason away the knowing in my head. Kael? I tiptoed towards her room, hardly able to breathe. Movie clips of guilty husbands and shocked wives flashed through my mind. It wasn't like I was Kael's wife, but I think the moon goddess had orchestrated us to be. I dragged my feet forward, fighting to lift them as I got closer. I wasn't sure of the protocol for such a situation. Since Kael had forbidden my presence, do I just walk away? Do I throw the door open and cry, "Aha, I caught you cheating on me with your girlfriend!"? Do I knock on the door and wait for him to get dressed and bark at me for interrupting his happy moment? I didn't know when I pushed the door open. My eyes viewed Kael and Lyra trying to scramble on clothes until Lyra realized it was me. The stupid and gullible wolf. She hissed. "You should throw her away into the street. Remembering she's still in this building upsets my stomach." She glared at me scornfully as she complained to Kael. "At least you are not a complete idiot." Kael pulled out a bag and threw it at me. "The bag contains gold. It's worth five million dollars. Take it as a gift from your mate." Lyra wrinkled her forehead and flared her nose at the word 'mate'. A trace of mockery flashed in my eyes. "Don't say it's too little. This would sustain you for three lifetimes. Take the money and step away from our lives. Kael and I are a perfect match for each other, unlike you. You're just a bumpkin. You and us influential people are from different worlds." Her words stabbed my heart. But Kael's silence was more painful. He pecked her neck as soon as she was done preaching to me. My jaw twitched with anger. "BEGONE w***e!" I screeched as I ran towards her. Probably to pluck life out of her. But I felt her smile wickedly while Kael left where he laid down beside her in a swift mode. The last thing I remembered was Kael coming in between both of us. After that, it was darkness. =========== =========== It's dark. I cannot see anything, but I hear the clinking of a metallic chain. Not able to move my hands freely made me realize that the chain was on my tiny wrist. I have slept in a d ungeon for almost twelve years and I know what it feels like. No doubt, I've been locked in a dungeon! Pit of hell! A hoarse yelp escaped my lips. "NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!"
