Chapter 38 – Dug In
Jerry watched the news on the monitor, transfixed for what seemed an interminable time. His world was being overrun and destroyed before his eyes. He had never felt so helpless.
Senzon appeared to his right, making several people in the bunker flinch.
Jerry was surprised to see the others react. Senzon usually only made himself visible to him, not to everyone else around. Maybe he was hoping to inspire confidence in the others. If so, things were probably dire indeed.
“Stay calm, everyone,” Auxiliary-General Coldstone said, raising her hands. “This is Senzon, a Master of the Luminiferous Plane. We've been working together behind the scenes. He's an ally.”
