Quinn stares at me across the cafe table, his question hanging in the air.
I lean forward. "Detective Quinn, I understand you made a vow to Elena. But the world has changed. Lynn's Ravencrest bloodline is too powerful to stay sealed forever."
"A vow is a vow." Quinn's voice hardens. "I swore to keep her human."
