Chapter Twelve
Friday mornings I usually slept in since I have the day off, but I had to go into the office to check on an event. It was only a few hours and then I did the normal things like grocery shopping and errands. I got back to Resort Shadows in the afternoon and strolled out to the mailboxes, walking past Nathan's unit. I found Nathan leaning against the tree that shades his porch.
"I was wondering when you were going to get by to see me. You stood me up last night for a party with that new guy." He placed his hand over his heart. "I’m devastated. After everything we’ve meant to each other." He couldn't keep his smile from breaking out. His white hair was tied in a ponytail again today.
