Willow I stood between Oberon and Chloe Phan, the commander in charge of our mission, and watched the line of visitors walk out of the transport room. Their ship—which Oberon told me they had actually stolen from the Hive—could be seen on the vid screens, floating just outside ours, in the middle of nowhere. I recognized their ship. I’d spent a long, long time on one nearly identical to it. Even now, standing next to Oberon, armed to the teeth—I’d added a second ion blaster to the opposite thigh—something felt wrong.
