I couldn’t help but laugh at Mathew’s face as I opened the door, clearly annoyed. Clara was standing right outside.
"What?" I snapped.
Clara swallowed hard, terrified. Mathew really was crazy—everyone here knew to be scared of him, yet here she was, talking to him like this.
"I… I… I just came to look for Aira… because Jeff and the others are already asking where she is," she stammered, shaking in fear.
Mathew is my friend, after all.
He took a deep breath and opened the door wider. He stepped closer to me, wrapped his arms around my small waist, and kissed my forehead.
"After you’re done getting ready, come back here," he said softly. I nodded and kissed his cheek in return. He’s so cute.
"Aira, I thought earlier that…" Clara started.
"Just stay quiet. That person has already moved on, okay?" I cut her off, making her scratch the back of her head in embarrassment.
"Well, actually, I should be happy now because you’re not acting crazy over anyone anymore. And honestly? You and Sir Mathew look really good together!" she giggled.
We’re just friends, girl…
"Aira, time for your makeup!" Glenda shouted. I shook my head no, and she glared at me like a furious dragon. I hate wearing makeup—it makes my face feel so itchy.
"You have no choice, darling!" said Fiel, who was already tying my hands together. Wow, great. They’re really forcing me into this.
A few moments later, Ash—whose real name is actually Reymundo—screamed so loud I nearly went deaf.
"Sis, you’re beautiful. You look even more stunning than ever!" she shrieked, jumping up and down. I heard everyone around me gasp in unison. What’s wrong?
"Holy s**t, you look like a goddess!"
Fiel laughed. "See? Your beauty just shines even brighter!" She said, tidying up the things on the desk before untying my hands. "Guys, be at the bazaar exactly at 7 PM!"
We all nodded in agreement, and they strictly told me not to touch or mess up my makeup. It was only 2:00 in the afternoon. But they said I needed to be fully made up already because there was a parade happening, and we had to be fully dressed and ready by 4:00 PM.
"I’m so sleepy," I complained to Clara as soon as we got out of the room.
"Me too… but I still haven’t seen Augustus yet," she replied.
Hearing that instantly woke me up.
"Be honest with me… is there something going on between you and Augustus?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at her. She turned pale, and I burst out laughing—drawing quite a bit of attention from the people around us.
"Is she new here?" someone whispered.
"She’s so beautiful, wow!"
Clara beamed with happiness upon hearing those compliments. But then we heard someone fake-cough right next to us.
"May I have the pleasure of knowing you, Miss?" a guy asked.
I was about to answer when Clara suddenly protested beside me.
"Sure, just ask permission from Sir Mathew first!" she retorted.
The guy froze, turned pale, and quickly walked away from us.
"You really know how to scare people!" I told her. She just grinned and gave me a 'whatever' look. She must be on her period or something.
"Clara, have you eaten yet?"
She nodded and said she was heading to the old cafeteria to eat. I didn’t have any other choice, so I went straight to Mathew’s office instead. But he wasn’t there.
"Oh, Aira. Mathew went home. A woman came to his office earlier, and they left together," someone told me.
I felt a sharp pang of jealousy. It’s funny—when I forget about him, he gets mad. But when he does things like this? Never mind.
I walked quietly toward the cafeteria to eat. I was really in a bad mood.
"I thought you said—" someone started.
"Don’t ever mention that bastard to me again!" I snapped sharply, making them raise their eyebrows in surprise.
I’m already hungry, and people just keep annoying me.
"She really is a goddess."
"Absolutely."
There were already so many people staring and buzzing around me, so I just shook my head and ordered some food. Despite my bad mood, things turned out fine, mostly because I hadn’t had a long, proper conversation with Clara in ages. Either I was busy, or she was.
I missed this cafeteria. This is where Clara and I first met. It’s always crowded here even when there are no classes. Aside from the delicious food, the servings are generous too.
"Girl… Mathew posted something on his story," Clara said.
I stopped chewing immediately and grabbed her phone. It was the photo the officer had taken earlier when he picked Mathew up. The caption read: 'Still you, never change.'
Why do I feel like I’m just a rebound here? Do men nowadays only care about having a woman’s body?
I just shook my head. I placed Clara’s phone back on the table and continued eating. If that’s how it is, then fine. Mathew can do whatever he wants.
"Someone’s jealous… look at that frown!" she teased.
"There’s nothing going on between us," I replied.
She laughed. She kept saying more things, but I just ignored her.
"Aira, go put on our uniform now!" Clara said while retouching her makeup quietly.
I obeyed silently. I put on an oversized t-shirt with our organization’s name printed on the back, and my name on the side.
When we entered the school grounds, I could barely move because of the huge crowd gathered for the parade.
"Aira, over here!" Feil shouted. We had to constantly say 'excuse me' and push our way through the crowd to get to them.
When I climbed onto the Hilux truck, I saw Mathew standing off to the side, talking happily to a beautiful woman—who looked like a foreigner—while her hands were clinging tightly to his arm.
"If looks could kill, he would’ve been lying dead on the floor a long time ago," Roldan remarked, making the rest of our group laugh. Meanwhile, I lowered my head in shame.
"Try to ignore him. Just like what you did with your Godfather. Although, to be fair, they’re not the same person."
It took an hour before we were able to return to our school after the parade. There was a short program and some games held afterward. All the other students? They seemed to be having fun. Me? I don’t think so.
Suddenly, Godfather crossed my mind. The last conversation I had overheard about him and others played back in my head. Even though I tried to avoid thinking about it, the pain was still there.
Then, I felt someone gently touch my cheek. It was Alexa.
"Your tears are too precious to be wasted on people who don’t even deserve to be cried for by someone like you," she said, handing me a tissue. I gave a small smile and accepted it.
The event had already started. Clara and I? We were still eating here at the bazaar. There’s so much food here… if only we had enough money to buy everything.
"The devil has arrived!" Clara scoffed, glaring toward the entrance. I looked where she was looking and saw Augustus standing there, hesitating whether to approach us or not.
Are they fighting again?
I just ignored them both and continued eating.
Throughout the whole event, I was bored out of my mind. Aunt Emilia and her group also said their goodbyes earlier, saying they had to go ahead because they had somewhere to go early tomorrow.
"See you later, Aira. I’m heading off now—my ride is already here!" Clara said. I nodded and waved goodbye to her.
I walked alone quietly along the somewhat long path home, until suddenly someone grabbed my arm. I shrieked in surprise. They covered my mouth, so I bit their hand hard.
I only stopped when I heard them curse in pain. It was Mathew. What does he want now?
"Damn you, woman!" he hissed. I rolled my eyes at him and kept walking. He called out to me again, but I completely ignored him. I’m still upset with him, and I’m definitely not in the mood to pretend everything’s fine.
"Hi, can I walk you home?" a guy approached. I know him—he’s one of the school’s varsity players, and also a campus crush.
Speaking of going home… I realized no one was actually coming to pick me up. I was about to say something when a car honked not far from where we stood. It was Godfather's car. What drama is he up to now?
After rejecting the guy’s offer, I walked quietly toward the car. I thought it's Godfather was inside, but it turned out to be our family driver, Fidel.
"I’m very sorry, Lady Aira, if I startled you earlier when I honked. Old Master called and instructed me to come and pick you up," he explained.
I just nodded and closed my eyes. I felt like I had been beaten up, I was so exhausted.
A few moments later, I felt myself being lifted into the air, but I was too tired to resist. Next thing I knew, I felt the softness of a bed beneath me. I let my exhaustion take over, but then I felt hands roaming all over my body.
The mattress sank deeper as he lay on top of me, slowly removing my clothes. Then I felt something rubbing against my most sensitive part… his fingers. In and out, slow at first, then faster, until I couldn’t help but let out soft moans.
He pulled his fingers out, and I thought he was done—but I made the mistake of opening my legs wider for him. With one deep thrust, he entered me completely, burying himself to the hilt. He moved slowly and deeply at first, then built up a steady, relentless rhythm. He was filled with so much desire and need.
He stayed in that position, his mouth traveling from my chest to my neck, leaving marks all over my skin.
I felt his manhood inside me grow bigger and harder, and the way he pressed deep inside me signaled that he was close. He was about to pull out, but I pressed myself even harder against him, which made him release everything inside me.
"I know you’re mad at me," he whispered, kissing my forehead. "Sleep well, my little Mushroom."
Huh? Who is 'Mushroom'?
