“NO.” Tristen’s voice was full of aggression. A powerful thick aura started pulsating off him, he latched tightly to my arm yanking me behind his body. I felt pain in my wrist as he refused to let go, even when I struggled to get free. He continued to block my body from all the people present as his aura continued to grow stronger. I could hear the groan of a few wolves forcefully submitting, unable to take the pressure. “Take back your challenge, and we will work something out Erica.” His voice was tight and strained as veins popped out on the side of his neck.
What did that mean? He would work something out. That he would take her as his mate? Tristen’s palms became sweaty against my skin. Erica’s voice sent a wave of anger through my whole body, her tone, her words, I didn’t like her. She was not trustworthy. “No, either the challenge goes ahead in wolf form as stated by that little thing behind you, or you make me Luna right here, right now.” A growl unrestrained ripped from Tristen the instant she pointed to me. I watched as her face turned into a scowl before continuing. “The naming ceremony is ready to go, isn’t it?” She sounded confident, but that was not possible, there was no way Tristen would agre…
Cutting off my train of thoughts. “Agreed, but Fee remains in the pack, under my protection.”
Autumn reared her head in my mind as a howl sounded deeply, pain shot through her. Rejection, she felt rejected, there was no chance I was going to let this happen. Trying to pull away with more force, Tristen turned to face me. A sadness blanketed his face. Leaning down, I think he meant to whisper too me. It didn’t matter what he said, be it good or bad. He was mine! He had no choice; I would force him if I had too. He was not allowed to be with someone else. Jutting my weak arms out, I hit him square in the face. He made no movement against me, he just stayed in place, his lips pulling into a tight line as he released me.
Finally escaping his hold Erica had made it on to the stage, unable to control myself a growl sounded from my lips. Stepping towards her, I was pulled back into a muscular chest, thick arms banded around me. Tristen could hold, but not stop me. Looking over to Bec, she was white as a ghost, panic clear in her eyes before I turned my gaze back to Erica. “I challenge you for position as Luna.” The words seamlessly left my mouth, Tristen could bribe her out of a challenge, but not me. He may be willing to settle for someone who is not his mate, but I would not allow it. Tristen was mine! I had never wanted anything so much in my entire life. I wanted him, Autumn needed him.
Erica’s lips curled into a smile, as Tristen’s body stiffened behind mine while tightening his grip. “I accept your challenge and choose to fight as wolves. I also bid to complete this challenge right here, right now. Then the winner can be named Luna tonight.”
As I nodded my head accepting her conditions, I felt Tristen’s body shake behind me. Spinning me swiftly in his arms, “please don’t do this Flicka, I only just found you. I can’t lose you.” My mate had no faith in Autumn or I, he didn’t believe in us. His fear was misplaced, all I could think of was his acceptance of Erica as Luna.
How dare she try and take my mate, I would wreck her, I would destroy her. Tristen also betrayed me, how dare he cling to me while accepting another. Ignoring Tristen words, I shoved him as hard as I could. He barely budged an inch as Adam walked on to the stage towards us. Stopping between Erica and I, Adam turned to Tristen. “Alpha?”
Tristen was still shaking as his eyes turned golden. Bec moved to Tristen’s side clasping his arm in her hands pulling him back and away from me. Unphased by his behaviour, my anger soared as I focused on Erica who continued to stare at me with a smirk on her face. Red all I could see was red. Reaching out I gripped Adam’s arm, “injection, give me injection.”
Noticing not only Adam, but everyone watching and listening to our exchange while furrowing their eyebrows while chattering in confusion. Tristen’s voice boomed, “WHAT INJECTION ADAM! What have you been giving my mate?” Adam Jumped at the sudden accusation, his eyes widening. Turning back to Tristen for a brief glance before turning back to me.
“Fee… I don’t understand? What injection? I have not given you any injections.”
Frustration seeped through me, slowly working its way through my system. “You took wolf, GIVE BACK!” He had injected me. He had stolen my wolf. Now he had to give it back, I needed to fight, I needed to win back my mate. I needed build my own position in this pack like I did with me last. I needed respect from these people, Autumn demanded respect and so did I.
