10 In the days following Biro’s encounter with the hawk moth, the personalities of the two trapped men seemed to switch. Biro’s usual brash, bold and aggressive manner quieted, his booming voice hushed. At the same time Csoda became more energetic, prone to bursts of comical movements and spasmodic dances. He even took to occasionally entertaining himself by laying against the open slit in the wall and peeking with his boney bearded face through the crack at weird angles, making faces or laughing manically with a gurgling sound as he exposed his tongueless mouth to the guards standing outside.
