Isabella couldn’t believe what she had just heard. We lay for a few more minutes, our gazes locked, before she suddenly began hitting my chest. “Let go of me.” She struck me roughly, as though something she had just remembered had made her react that way. I could guess what it was. I knew what it was, because I had already entered and read her mind. I held my chest and quickly rose from her, pretending the hit had actually hurt. “Ouch.
