Ivan explained to me that he would never let Alpha Roderick take my parents. He said that they were immediately put under extra protection and would not be harmed. It soured the mood of the date a bit. But one thing that stuck with me was that he said that “we” had told Alpha Roderick that he would never get me back. “We” as in Ivan and Alpha Victor. It may have been a slip of the tongue, but it briefly filled me with hope again.
Whenever I went out somewhere with Alpha Victor, it felt like he was a whole new person. He was not as open as Ivan was, but he was actually kind to me.
