“He hit me several times, mostly in places that weren’t visible. My body was bruised by the time we got back to the pack. And like I said before, he was constantly reminding me of how long was left until he marked me. At first, I fully believed I was going to be rescued. But as the hours stretched on with no sign of anyone, I started to lose hope. I started to hope that when he marked me…that when he marked me I would die.
