I took another sip of my coffee before looking up at Roman. “I have a class later this morning.” He was leaning against the kitchen counter, scrolling through his phone. “Alright , I’ll drive you there.” “You don’t have to.” Roman looked up. His grey eyes moved over me. “Then why did you tell me in the first place?” “I just told you because I felt like telling you.” “I’ll just call my driver .” “Why?” “Because that is what I normally do ?” I was confused as f**k . “I said I’ll take you to school .” “Why though?” “Because I want to!” He said it so casually that I didn’t know what to say for a second. Roman pushed himself away from the counter. “What time is your class?” “Eleven.” “Good.” “We have time.” “For what?” His eyes dropped to what I was wearing. His oversized T-shirt. I looked down at myself. Then back at him. “Oh.” “You’re not going to class like that.” “Obviously.” “So go take a shower and put on anything from my closet .” I stared at him. “In what exactly?” Roman paused. “Anything.” “Let’s go get you some clothes.” Few minutes later I came out . “I saw these shorts in the cloth pile you left behind” “Where did that come from?” He was actually looking confused . “One of the girls you hooked up with must have left it behind.” “Hmm, Whatever.” He picked up his car keys from the counter. “Let’s go get you something to wear.” Thirty minutes later. I was standing in front of one of the most famous boutiques in the area. It was my second time shopping there. A reservation had to be made just to shop there . I wondered how we got in . I wore another one of his shirts with the denim shorts I saw . He, on the other hand, looked like Roman Valmont. Dark pants. Black shirt. Expensive watch. The saleswoman’s face immediately changed when she recognized him. “Mr. Valmont.” Roman gave her a small nod. “She needs clothes.” I turned toward him. “Whatever she wants.” The saleswoman looked between us. “Of course.” “Well thank you , I can never reject the offer to shop for free .” I smiled as I walked off. Later, I came out wearing , A fitted white tube top. I paired it with some light-faded, wide-leg denim pants . It was simple and cute . “Do you like it ?” I asked Roman . He stared at me from head to toe . “Is that all?” Then he stood up . Going through the cloths hanged up . Before he picked out a butter yellow button up shirt . “This would look amazing on you .” “What makes you think so?” “You always look good in yellow .” I put on the shirt and it actually looked nice. The saleswoman appeared beside me with several bags. “Can you style her hair before we head out?” He asked the saleswoman. “Sure, our hairstylist is here.” I left the boutique looking gorgeous in my outfit and my hair styled in soft waves. And for some moment, I had actually forgotten about everything that had happened yesterday . “We are going back home .” Roman said as he put on his seatbelt. “Why?” “I’m gonna be late for class.” “ I just need to change my car .” “What the f**k ! I can’t believe this dude .” We arrived and headed straight to his car garage. Roman had a ridiculous number of cars. I stopped walking. My eyes moved across the massive garage. There were sports cars. Luxury sedans. SUVs. He ignored me and started walking around the garage. I followed him. He stopped in front of a sleek black Mercedes . Then shook his head. “No.” “Are you seriously choosing a car based on your mood?” “Yes.” “Oh my God.” A few seconds later, he stopped. He walked toward a cast grey sport car . He nodded to himself. “This one.” I raised a brow. “Why?” He opened the driver’s door. Roman got inside. “Get in, Sinclair.” The drive to St. Clair’s was surprisingly comfortable and quiet . We got closer to campus. I recognized the main entrance. Students were everywhere. Walking up the stairs. Talking before class. Then Roman’s car slowed. “Roman.” “What?” “Don’t stop here.” “Why?” “Everyone is here.” “So?” I turned toward him. “Can you drop me somewhere else?” “No.” “Roman.” “We’re already here.” The car rolled toward the entrance. Heads turned. One after another. I heard the engine lower as Roman stopped the car. My stomach dropped. Students already knew that sound. They knew exactly whose car it was. “Oh my God.” “Is that Roman Valmont?” “What is he doing here?” The whispers started immediately. I closed my eyes. “Please let me out before I die.” Roman looked amused. I love being in the spotlight but this was a little too much. “You’re dramatic.” I grabbed my bag. “Goodbye.” I opened the door. The moment I stepped outside, the whispers became louder. I tried to ignore them. “Isn’t that Arianna Sinclair?” “She came out of Roman’s car?” “I thought she was closer with Luca.” I slammed the door shut. Then I heard the window lower behind me. I slowly turned around. “I’ll be picking you up at five.” My eyes widened. Half the damn campus was listening. I leaned closer. “Everyone is listening,” I whispered. His expression didn’t change. “Let them hear.” I stared at him. Roman shrugged. “I don’t give a fuck.” As if he hadn’t just caused a complete scene. He drove away. Everyone was staring. Absolutely f*****g fantastic. I turned around and started climbing the stairs. And that was when I saw him. Luca. Standing at the top. Waiting. Our eyes met. I looked away. And kept walking. “Ari.” I ignored him. “Arianna.” Then he stepped directly in front of me. Blocking my path. I stopped. “Move.” “We need to talk.” “I said move.” His jaw tightened. “Why were you coming out of Roman’s car?” “That’s none of your business.” He stepped closer. “You know what I mean.” “No, Luca.” I folded my arms. “I actually don’t.” “Did you spend the night with him?” I mean the f*****g audacity of this man. “Excuse me?” “You heard me.” “After what I saw last night, you think you have the right to question me?” His face hardened. “That isn’t what this is about.” “Then what is it about?” He didn’t answer. Of course. Because even he didn’t know. I shook my head. “Move.” Students were already starting to paying attention . He stayed where he was. “I moved in with him .” “What?” “You moved in with Roman?” “Yep.” “Why the f**k would you do that?” “I don’t owe you an explanation .” Then I walked away. During class, I couldn’t focus. Why did I have to be the one feeling embarrassed? I hadn’t done anything wrong. Luca and Camille did. I texted Roman. “Pick me up at Camille’s house .”
