Chapter 14
Zack walked into Pizza Hut and immediately heard Jen laughing. He was surprised that he had recognized it as her laugh. He looked around and saw her with a man about her age. They seemed to have an easy comradery. He felt a little jealous.
Jen looked up, saw him, and waved him over. She introduced her friend as Paulie, who corrected her and said, “Just Paul.” They invited Zack to join them, so he sat down. Minutes after he sat down, the pizza arrived, and they insisted that he eat it with them.
