Chapter 30
Paulie looked around his safe house. It was built in the basement of his house. It was a twenty-by-twenty-foot space. He entered it by going behind the secret bookcase in the den and down some stairs. At one end were a television and two comfortable chairs. There was a small table with two chairs, a refrigerator, and a microwave on one side. Next to that was a small countertop with storage for some dishes and food. In the middle of the opposite wall were a built-in desk and two computers. The computer screens were split into six sections, showing pictures streaming from the cameras around the house. There was a camera in each room and two outside, one showing his walkway and the other showing the street. He could see if anyone was coming or going. On the other side of the room
