Jen checked one more time to see that everything was in place. Ice, tea, lemonade, glasses, and chicken salad croissant sandwiches were already set up on the patio. She had talked with Ingrid and Gordon that morning. They both seemed a little nervous but excited. She had assured them that she would be there with a friend. She would stay out of the way once they met unless either one of them needed something or wanted her around.
Zack showed up first with a bouquet of flowers. “Romance needs flowers,” he announced. CD bounced around, waiting for Zack’s attention.
