ARIA Taking a slow breath, Calder pushed the notebook across the table. His fingers stayed on the cover for a second before he let go. “In that book, there’s a list of names and dates,” he said. His voice was tight. “Female names are written in one column. Some don’t have names. Just numbers. In the next column, there are men’s names. Mostly rogues. It took me months to track some of them down and question them. That’s how I started to understand what those names meant.” He inhaled again.
