New Feelings

Alexander’s P.O.V     I was laying on my bed when I received a text message from my cousin Jake.       Jake: Hey bro, I am throwing a party tonight. You should come and join:)       Alexander: I will see, but I don’t promise you.       Jake: Try to make it. This is a chance to meet your ‘friends to be’ before school starts;)       Alexander: Okay, I’ll be there after Cathy sleeps. See you:)     I was so excited when my dad informed us that he got transferred back permanently to California. We used to live here when I was small before Catherine, my younger sister, was born. I could remember spending all the time at the park with Jake and some kids from my neighborhood, I used to love it here. We lived in New York for seven years, it is very beautiful, and the Times Square is just as charming as the city is. Though, I never felt myself at home like I feel here in my hometown.     Mom and dad were always busy with work; therefore, I took care of my five-year-old sister, which made our bond grow stronger. She is very innocent, funny, cute and adorable.     I already unpacked my stuff along with Cathy’s, so I just chose what I wanted to wear to the party. My parents were going to be late tonight, therefore, I went downstairs and made Cathy a sandwich, then, I sat with her until she fell asleep. After having a shower, I wore a green T-shirt matching my green eyes along with black jeans and black shoes. I checked on Cathy who was sleeping peacefully and went out when our parents came back.      It was nine when I reached the party which means the fun has just started. When I entered the apartment, I went to Jake and he immediately gave me a bro hug. Huh typical Jake.     “Woah, I didn’t know you missed me that much bro.” I said sarcastically.     “Of course I did, you were away for seven years.” He chuckled.” Come on, let me introduce you to the boys.” He added.     We went over to two boys who looked like our age, each one holding a beer.     “So, boys, let me introduce you. This is Alexander Williams, my cousin, he just came from New York City and will be attending our school”. He said to them. “Alex, the blonde one is Mathew, the smartest of us all. However, Caleb, the one with black hair, is the bad boy of our gang.” He added pointing at each one as he spoke.     “Nice to meet you and please call me Alex.” I said.     “Welcome to the g**g man.” They said happily and pulled me into a group hug.     As we stood there chatting, I heard a loud laugh, when I looked at the person laughing, my heart skipped a beat at the sight of a beautiful girl laughing showing her pearl teeth… She looked gorgeous and natural unlike the girls who were at the party with full makeup and throwing themselves over the boy. She was wearing a baby blue dress with a pair of white shoes. Her light brown wavy hair falling down her back. Her eyes were bright colored and small. I couldn’t take a clear look of her since people were blocking my view. She just looked innocent and pretty.       “Earth to Alex!!” Caleb shouted grabbing my attention back to him.     What’s happening to me! I never got attracted to a girl before without even having a conversation with her. I guess it’s just the drink, right? To be honest, I had never been in a relationship before, because girls always were following me just for my charms.     After a while, I headed towards the kitchen to have a refill of my drink. As I came closer to the door, I could hear a girl shouting. “What are you doing? Leave me alone.” I felt that there was a problem, but I didn’t want to interfere, maybe it’s something private. I motioned into the kitchen with small steps, then I saw the beautiful girl from earlier. At that moment, I felt my blood boil as I saw the scene in front of me, a man was grabbing the girl’s wrists in his large hands. She looked afraid and weak to fight him back and tears rolling down her face which made me even more angry. I felt the urge of protecting her and the thought of that man hurting her drove me crazy. Rapidly, I ran towards them and punched him in the face causing him to fall on the ground. As the girl was about to fall, I wrapped my arms around her waist preventing her from falling. She was closing her eyes tightly preparing herself to hit the ground but when she realized my hands around her, she opened her eyes where my green orbs met her ocean blue ones. Now, that our faces were close, I got lost in her eyes. She looked very beautiful in every way possible. We kept looking at each other for a long time after she straightened up and thanked me. I wasn’t letting her go back home on her own at this time, so I decided to be her ride and offered her to grab my arm if she felt afraid. She just grabbed it making a large distance between us. Aww, she’s so cute. I didn’t say anything because I completely understood her after all I’m a stranger to her.     As I drove us to her house, I started thinking of all the incidents that happened tonight. I never felt the urge of protecting someone before other than Cathy. When we were leaving the kitchen, the man that I punched glared at the girl which threatened her and she moved closer to me. I just felt I wanted to shoot him in the eyes so that he could never look at her again. I immediately put my hand around her shoulder, moving her closer to my side and gave her a re-assuring look, then, I glared at the man with my angry eyes causing him to look away. All this was new for me, I felt like I wanted to watch over and protect her from everything. Although, I was shocked that she had claustrophobia, people could use that to hurt her.     I was taken back when I heard myself utter those words “Goodnight, my angel.” What is happening to you Alex?!! Angel, really? To be honest, she looked innocent, natural and drop dead gorgeous. She looked like an angel.     “Goodnight, my protector.” She replied making my heartbeat race. She thought of me as her protector! Did she really mean it? Well, I guess so since I was the one who saved her tonight. Oh my god! I just sound like a thirteen-year-old girl thinking about her crush.     As I reached my house, I went into my room and sat on my bed. My phone beeped.       2 missed calls from Jake and one text message.       Jake: Where are you bro? the party isn’t over yet.       Alexander: Something happened and right now I am at home. I just need to ask you about someone.       Jake: About who?       Alexander: Do you know a girl with light brown hair and blue eyes? She was at your party.       Jake: Dude, there were plenty of girls with these characteristics. I can’t help you with that.       Alexander: It’s okay, see you.    By that, I drifted into a deep sleep.    The next morning, I woke up late. I ate dinner and impatiently drove to the girl’s house. I parked the car and waited for her to get out. Twenty minutes later, an old woman opened the door holding a kid in her hands and a young girl joined them locking the door. She looked my age, but not my angel…um I mean the girl from last night, she was a blondie. I sighed with disappointment, maybe this wasn’t her house.      Days passed by so fat, and I couldn’t remove the girl out of my head, I just hope I could see her again because she made me feel things I never felt before. Tomorrow is my first day at West Hills High School. Wish me luck:0
