"Blair! Where is she? Why is she taking so long just to bring a teapot? Good grief!" A shout snapped Blair back to reality. She struggled to take a deep breath, trying to bury all her sadness and anger. There was no time for that - she would face the Harrison family's abuse, and Finn would be furious with her.
"Yes, I'm coming!" Blair answered, quickly running toward the dining room. When she entered, everyone at the dining table was staring at her. No, not because they were happy to see Blair - they looked utterly disgusted by her.
Blair knew that not a single member of the Harrison family liked her. They considered her just a woman who was freeloading and using Finn for his wealth.
But three years ago, Blair hadn't cared about any of that at all. She had only seen Finn and her immense love for him. Now, however, she never imagined her life would become so miserable because of her husband's family, and her husband himself.
"Where have you been? Everyone's busy, but you can't move quickly."
"I'm sorry..." Agnes roughly snatched the teapot from Blair's hands.
"Completely useless. You can't even handle such a small task, just like you can't handle being a wife." Once again, words that pierced Blair's heart. Not a single person spoke kindly to her in this house.
Blair deliberately glanced at Finn, but her husband wouldn't even look at her or show any sympathy seeing his own wife humiliated in front of his family. Finn seemed completely indifferent; he wasn't even bothered by Victoria's constant proximity to him, as if Finn and Blair weren't husband and wife.
"We should start dinner," said Finn's father, Fergus Harrison.
"Just sit down, Agnes. Leave her be, and don't let her sit here and ruin my birthday with her disgusting appearance," Fergus continued, shooting Blair a sharp glance.
"Alright! Everyone, please enjoy your meal." After Agnes said this, everyone immediately began eating their dinner while chatting. Her husband Finn was busy enjoying his food, with Victoria continuing to act intimately with him.
Meanwhile, Blair just stood there - no one told her to sit despite being Finn's wife. She desperately wanted to cry; tears were already welling up in her eyes. This was so painful. Blair had tried to endure it for three years, but she couldn't take it anymore.
She lowered her head, trying to hide her tears that had begun falling down her cheeks. Her eyes fixed on the ring on her finger, her wedding ring. She remembered how much Finn had loved her at the beginning of their marriage.
"Is this my fault for not being able to give him an heir?" Blair thought, beginning to blame herself. She loved Finn so much; that's why she had endured for these three years.
"Victoria, I heard that Finn got the cooperation with Eden Group because of you?" asked Fergus, making Victoria smile broadly. She appeared shy while shaking her head.
"No, it wasn't because of me, Sir. I've been friends with their leadership for a long time, but this is all certainly because of Finn's hard work. I'm just here to help as Finn's secretary," Victoria answered, making everyone admire her.
Blair secretly scoffed. Friends? Blair was certain that cooperation was obtained because Victoria had seduced Eden Group's leader. Blair knew that the leader there was very flirtatious despite being older and married.
During these three years, it wasn't just Finn's true nature she had seen. But also Victoria's. She knew Victoria had been friends with Finn for a very long time, and Victoria liked Finn, but Finn had married Blair instead.
"No, Vic is really amazing. I was impressed when I found out she knew Mr. Eden," Finn chimed in, turning to Victoria, who was already giggling shyly.
"Finn, don't be like that, you're making me blush," she whispered while playfully hitting Finn's arm.
"You're truly an exceptional woman, Vic. I still don't understand why you're not the one who married Finn, when you two look so perfect together." Now Agnes joined in with her comments. Blair raised her head, looking at Finn with a wounded expression because of her mother-in-law's words. She hoped that at least Finn would contradict or reprimand his mother, but Finn just laughed along with Victoria.
"Instead of marrying a useless woman who can't give Finn children." Agnes's tone changed, sounding furious. Everyone fell silent, but Blair could feel their piercing gazes even though they weren't looking at her directly.
"Mother, please. Don't bring that up again, I'm stressed enough..."
"If you had married Victoria, you might already have children. I told you from the beginning, didn't I?" Agnes wouldn't stop; she seemed unsatisfied with her words that had already deeply hurt Blair.
"Do you think I don't regret it?" Finn's response now pushed Blair past her breaking point.
"Finn, what do you mean by those words?" Blair finally spoke up. Finn sighed and glared at Blair.
"Are you serious about saying that here, Finn?" Blair asked again between her sobs.
"Good grief, now she's ruining the party," Victoria remarked while rolling her eyes, showing no sympathy for Blair whatsoever.
"Finn, answer me!" Blair now shouted, because Finn wouldn't answer her question.
"Get her out of here!" Agnes shouted too, outraged that Blair was yelling in the middle of dinner and disturbing them.
"Yes, I'm sorry, Mother." Quickly, Finn rose from his seat. He walked toward Blair and immediately dragged her out of the dining room.
"Let go! Let me go! You're the one who said all those things in front of your family, and I'm the one who has to leave?" Blair tried to break free from Finn's grip, but her husband wouldn't release her.
"Were you really serious about what you said, Finn?" Blair asked again.
"Answer me!" Blair shouted because Finn still wouldn't answer her question.
Right in front of the Harrison family house, Finn released his grip and turned around to face Blair, who was still crying. There was no sympathy in his eyes; Blair couldn't even find love anymore in her husband's gaze.
"Yes, everything I said is true! I regret it, deeply regret marrying you these past three years. You're nothing but a parasite to me; I'm even ashamed to have a wife like you..." Blair's tears stopped momentarily as she stared at Finn, unable to believe he would say such things. Was this what she got after sacrificing her life?
