[Elijah]

About three weeks later. Father returned home.
Mother and I were sleeping. When we heard a crisp knocking sound,
'Knock knock.'
Mother unwillingly woke up. She found the continuous household work exhausting during post-pregnancy. She had to do this all alone without anyone's help. It had just been three months since my birth. The exhaustion took a toll on her. She even had some dark circles now.
She first checked in on me. Finding me asleep, she moved towards the door to answer the door. She had to be cautious. It was the dead of the night. She opened the door without unlocking the door chain.
"Sarah"
A voice called her.
The voice was brimming with a lot of complex mixtures of emotions. I discerned who it was.
("Father")
I mumbled to myself.
"Ravial!"
Mother shouted in surprise and rushed to embrace him.
Father. He was a handsome man with a nice build. His face glowed with valor and exuded utmost confidence. He had dark brown hair that enhanced his facial features. Father's left arm was wrapped in bandages. Probably an injury in the War. I mused.
"Now, now, Sarah. Don't cry like that. What would Elijah think?"
Father consoled mother as he smiled at her tearful face. He then looked at me with a faint smile. He walked to me with a big backpack in his hand.
I closed my eyes, pretending to be asleep. I grew a little nervous. Father's gaze had been fixed on me for a while now. However, it contained affection and warmth and nothing else. It still bothered me a little.
I was socially unpresentable. I had never had a proper conversation in my entire lifetime. So, it was kind of a natural outcome.
Seemingly, father got too excited after seeing me.
Even after knowing I was asleep, he couldn't hold himself back. He picked me up in his arms gently, to not wake me up. I continued pretending to be asleep.
With a hushed voice, Mother scolded father,
"Ravial, what do you think you are doing?! Elijah is a light sleeper. Don't disturb him. He will wake up."
She said in a panicked voice.
After hearing this, Father became a little anxious. He looked at me, only to find me asleep. He giggled, finding Mother's overreaction funny.
"Calm down. Look, Eli's still asleep." He said to Mother.
Apparently, I was now "Eli."
That night I got very little sleep. Listening to echoing grunts and moans, made me feel really embarrassed. I now knew what embarrassment felt like, and believe me, it didn't feel one bit 'good.'

I knew that I had to develop my mental energy to utilize the " Invert Mode" properly. I still couldn't move around autonomously. So, I just had to do my best to employ this time appropriately.
While "Mom" and "Dad" were sleeping, I would continuously try to switch the "Invert Mode" 'on.' Eventually, I successfully assigned the "Invert Mode" a mental switch. However, I couldn't switch it off. Nevertheless, it was a great success for me.
But the continuous usage of "Invert mode" took a toll on me. I developed severe symptoms of "Migraine." I wasn't in some rush. So, I tried to step things down a bit. Developing such severe symptoms at such an age may lead to many defects and diseases. I need to be careful.
Because of slowing down things, It took me about two more months to develop my mental energy to the point where it takes me three minutes to blackout after continuously using the "Invert Mode."
I thought I should now focus on finding a method to turn "off" the "Invert Mode." Because without it, the "Invert Mode" would be rendered useless. It is like I am currently driving a sports car but without any brakes. Invert Mode may be very useful. But if using it would always knock me out then, I would rather not use it.
