CHAPTER V – Modern Day Vampire

Taylor’s POV

I am no ordinary vampire; I was born in modern days. Where Vampires no longer hides in a secluded castle in a faraway mountain, or in the middle of a forest. We don’t prey on humans like in the olden days when Vampires are being feared of. But we’re also not someone who goes to a blood bank to buy blood, that’s the craziest made-up story I heard about Vampires.

We modern days Vampire, are already well educated, we work, and live life like ordinary being up until the age of 18 when our senses become extraordinary. That’s the time when we have to learn about being Vampire. As our Vampire senses awaken, and some abilities start to show, till we’re 21 when we can already shift.

Shifting in Vampires is very different from human imagination. We don’t just have a change of eye color into red, and fangs grew like canine does, outgrowing until we can’t almost close our mouth. That’s a stupid thought.

Shifting for us means, that we can simply adjust our age to our delight. The only thing that changes on me really is my eye color. It used to be light brown, now it became darker, almost red. Its color intensifies, based on my emotion.

Unlike the story, Vampires are not dead. We are not zombies. We are living creatures, only that our genes are far more powerful than an ordinary being. Upon reaching the full-grown stage, which is 21, we age very slow. Our heartbeats are almost flat as if we don’t have one. But hey, we’re not far from humans, we still breathe the same air as you, we need food and water to live, but of course, as vampires we also need blood.

Because of our slow heart beating, our body can’t reproduce blood as much as a human does. We’re mostly like anemic but to a very extent level. Blood transfusion won’t work with us. The transmitted blood will just go with the veins and gets stuck there until something pumps it. While if we drink it, it’s like water, not more than 15 minutes and it’s already distributed to our body.

At 18 we learn about having a human mate. A human mate is someone we can drink blood on. We don’t just sink our fang to anyone. There is that one special human who can feed our hunger. Human mates are chosen by their smell, that sweet smell that tastes like food to us.

We don’t marry our mate; we are meant to marry our kind. A human mate is merely for drinking. But in the process, we also need them to drink some of our blood. Or else they will die of pain. A vampire’s bite is very painful, that it’ll take days of burning feeling. Some survive, but many die out of pain.

As we start the relationship between a Vampire and a human mate, we make a pact. A contract that we both need to abide by. Beneficial to both parties, especially to the human mate. Most Vampires don’t ask anything more than being submissive, to let us drink every time we need, and to give us s****l pleasure as much as we wanted.

The only turning point for humans is once the contract ended, they will be given a good sum of money as part of the reward unless of course if they wish otherwise. Plus, a very rare case when a female human mate, carries a Vampire baby. But that one is almost impossible.

Nothing more important to me now but making Esme my wife, and for me to be able to do that, I need to make sure I plant my seed on her. But how? How can I do such a thing to her? When she was so darling and delicate.

I can't imagine a world without Esme. Since I learned that she was my human mate, I already rooted for her. But how? How can I be with her, when by that I'll be snatching her normal life? I'll be dragging her to my world where human fear. So I work and work and work, to ensure I'll be on top. Then I'll look for her, so I can give her my amulet, so she can bear my name, so I can have her in my bed. Nothing thirstier than having the feeling of wanting someone.

When all my worldly feeling builds up, I want nothing more but to burst my seed inside her. To make her moan under my breath, to make her shout my name as I plunge into her.

Just thinking about her makes me feel extra good. That need that made me f**k Elise, my employee. I don't care about the risk; I just want to imagine her as I f**k Elise anywhere I wish to.
