Chapter IX- Plan A

874 Words
Unknown POV   I searched every possible site that can lead me to her, but I haven’t found her. One day I just came to the realization that you can use a photo to search using google.   So I went to google, on the search bar I click the picture icon and uploaded her photo. And guess what? I found some related accounts. From there I started my search, till I finally land on an article about Red Velvet, and it shows that the writer is her, Esmeralda Dwayne, my sweet angel.   Red Velvet has many branches, and actually, locate which branch she is working is really hard. Though I have the option to call the publishing house, I won’t go that far unless I have legal rights. Or else I might end up in jail, which is not included in my options.   I send an email to the publishing house, asking for a talk so I can publish my dad’s paper. It’s not a coincidence, my dad already has a contract with a publishing house. But I can’t think of another way to get a connection.   I’m a manager of a not-so-famous hotel in London, and I’m one step from the ladder of promotion during her runaway. Hence, I can’t focus on looking for her, I was thinking, maybe she just needs a breather or something, but as days pass into weeks, and weeks become months. I came to the conclusion that she left me.   I knew she never loves me, it’s obvious by how she tried to avoid me every time I go farther than a simple kiss. At first, I thought she was just being a reserve, but as time goes by, even the “I love you” became a regular phrase.   I like her, I like her badly. I had a crush on her since we were just kids, dad and I used to visit their place in Australia when we have extra time. My dad is a pastor; we use to go to different places because of his work. And on one of those journeys, I met Esmeralda.   I know her mom has big ambition for her, I read it from the letter she drops for dad on our prayer request box. So I study hard to get a degree, but my dad’s work made it hard for me to go to a good university. While I had a diploma, it doesn’t assure me I’ll get a good job. The fact is that those big companies out there, don’t just look at your attainment, but also one where you actually graduated.   Stupid as it sounds, that is just one of the other things I have to accept in this crucial world. So I accepted a job offered by my father’s church advocate, my position wasn’t something I can show off. But I did well and was promoted. As soon as I was able to earn enough, I talked to dad to sway Esmeralda’s mother. But not more than 3 months she’s with me, she left, just like that. All my time and effort were wasted. But, I won’t let everything be wasted. I’ll make sure she will marry me.   ESMERALDA POV   My job was so vague, though I know I’ll probably have this kind of work because of my college course, and my work history. But still, I’m intrigued, they don’t let me go to the office, I work at home. They will just give me a topic that I should write an article, whether it was published or not I get paid. What intrigued me the most is that I’m not allowed to read the printed article. Let alone I was never invited to any event or meeting, where I know an article writer should be.   Also, I feel like Taylor is hiding from me. I lay down on my bed thinking about him, I don’t know what happens. He would only contact me, for a work-related reason. I think, he came to realize, that I’m nothing but a country bumpkin.   I put on my earplug and play a piece of cozy music to lull me to sleep, then I close my eyes, as I drift by the sea of dreams.   Suddenly I feel a cool breeze kiss my forehead, I’ve been feeling this for some time already, the reason why I have to play a piece of music. I mean, it feels crazy, as if I’m being stalk by a ghost, I knew it’s a product of my imagination. But I still feel cringed.   Every time I feel this, I shut my eyes tighter as if hiding. Honestly, I’m not afraid. I don’t know how to describe these cold chills I am feeling, but it’s more of a goose bump. I feel as though a ghost of a dead lover is visiting me each night.
