(Aaliyah’s POV) I had barely been home with my family for six hours, and already, it felt like nothing had changed. I mean, dinner at the Morgenthau household was always an extravagant affair, and you would think that, given our current situation, that fact would be put on hold for a moment, but it didn’t even matter that we were in hiding, arrangements had already been made for a lavish evening. Father invited us up to the top, where the restaurant setting was, and it surprised me to find a feast laid out before us even though there was no one in sight in terms of staff. The air was filled with the rich aroma of seasoned steak, grilled fish, garlic butter shrimp, and freshly baked bread and, like it usually did when I was surrounded by yummy goodness, my mouth watered in anticipation
